The Bern Royals come into the S39 VHLM playoffs as the top-seeded European team. After an improved performance over the second-half of the regular season, they have earned a bye into the European Conference finals. As they await either the Oslo Storm or the Moscow Red Wolves, the Royals will be training hard to ensure they are prepared for what should be a very difficult playoff series.

There is a added incentive for the Swiss-based club after experiencing a brutal 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Moscow in last year's VHLM Playoffs. After being swept out of the playoffs, Bern used the off-season to make key additions to team in the form of all-stars Devin Sundberg and Sam Keeler along with two-way center Jody 3 Moons. With a much better roster the Royals will be expecting nothing less than an appearance in this season's Founder's Cup Finals.

It is looking unlikely that Bern will be able to avenge their S39 playoff elimination at the hands of the Moscow Red Wolves. The Oslo Storm have just hit their stride as the playoff began and hold a 3-0 series stranglehold. The Bern coaching staff has kept a close eye on Oslo's play in the first-round series and surely have a plan to deal with the surging Norwegian club.
