Vancouver Wolves to Name Captain at the Home Opener next week

Who are the leading contenders?

 

 

The Vancouver Wolves plan to name a new captain but not until their home opener against Chicago Phoenix. Vancouver starts their season on the road against the new upstart New York Americans so it will be interesting to see what the teams does in the interim for the game against the Americans as to whom will wear the letters for the opening game. Will this be an indicator of whom will be the captains this season.

 

 

Assuming that the team follows a traditional route, they will like have three alternate captains when they play the Americans in the season opener with one of the three players likely being named as the captain during the season opener.

 

 

Well, we can tell you that you won’t have to wait that long to know who is going to be named the Captain of the Vancouver Wolves as we have the inside scoop from a member very closely associated with the team and they have decided to let us have the inside scoop.

 

 

“This is something that the team thought long and hard about. A lot of young guys are coming up and most are good players. They want to score or they want to play well, but then there are some guys that have that extra dimension to them. Where they see more of the big picture and you can see that they think differently than most of the guys. He is one of them for sure!!" stated the unnamed source close to the team.

 

 

So the new Captain of the Vancouver Wolves is going to be:

@Lemorse7   Alexandre Leduc

He has been an active member of the locker room since joining the team from the trade with Riga Reign, that seen two first depart the club while the team acquired Leduc and Biggie Cheese in the transaction. He also showed faith in the club by signing a long-term extension and will continue to play a large role with the club in seasons moving forward. This obviously didn`t go unnoticed by the rest of his team mates and has been reward by being selected as Vancouver Wolves new Captain.

@Spartan   Nico Pearce

Another member that has showed faith and character since joining the club via free agency as he has taken the younger players under his wings on and off the ice. The Kevin Brooks and Scotty Campbell award winner should continue to lead the way on and off the ice for the Vancouver Wolves this season.

@JB123 Nathan Powers

Heading into his final season showed faith in the Vancouver Wolves in trade and sign coming over from the New York Americans. Most of his tenure has been with the Prague Phantoms where he was also named an Alternate Captain, once again show his character here in the locker room as the team mate have once again named him an Alternate but this time with the Vancouver Wolves. He should lead the back-end this season and quarterback the power-play. Another great selection by his team mates.  

 

 

 

It was also announced that team would go with one Captain and two alternate route due to the how well the locker room has gelled together this season with several players tied for what would have been the third alternate; if the team was going to announce one making it nearly impossible to announce a third Alternate Captain.

The leadership core was selected by the players of the Vancouver Wolves this season and these three members will hopefully lead the team to a very successful season. Wow, How fast things have changed in Vancouver in little over a season. Are they now truly contenders or are they truly only pretenders? Only seventy two games left to determine what they are really are and that isn`t even when the real season starts...
