It's important to consider the difference between this award and MVP, he'll more than likely win MVP, but was not the most outstanding player this past season. Typically the Slobo focuses more on stats, whereas MVP is more impact on team success.

 Leandro Goncalves led the league in goals, game-winning goals, game-tying goals, shots, hat tricks, AND face-off percentage while taking the 2nd-most faceoffs. He was also T-2nd for plus/minus.

and had the most 1st star nominations with 15 (and 30 Star nominations in total) which both are league leading as well
