Scurvy 1,494
Another week closer to the playoffs and another week of Around the League in 500 words (or so). Want to chat about the Philly Reapers and Vancouver’s future, which is super bright. ITS SUNNY IN PHILLY I was dinking around in the forum and looking at VHLM stats. I wasn’t shocked to see the Philadelphia Reapers to be doing well but had no idea they would be the first club to 100 points. At 48-12-4 they are leaps and bounds ahead of the other clubs and have scored 247 goals already in 64 games. I’ll start with their goaltending which has been superb. Jorgen Lovstrom @Pifferfish has been lights out with a 42-6-4 record. A 2.33 GAA and 2 shutouts he stopped 1531 shots this season and never seems to take a night off. On the scoring front they are led by Yermolai Nabokov @fonziGG has 42-52=94 pts and added 105 hits. I expect YN to be deadly come playoff time and a high draft pick in the E and VHL. After YN, they have Taylor Swift @lilchrist 31-47=78pts, Walter Jinn @Adrest245 30-42=72pts, Xiver Jinn @inflastud 24-27=51pts, and beaubeau primetime @Bobo26-40=66pts. On defense, Enn Jinn @jhatty8 is the ultimate quarterback on the back end. AT 602 250 he can move opponents easily and has soft hands as well notching 19 goals 58 assists for 77pts. 7 power play goals as well he will be pivotal come playoff time. Rounding out the rest of the defense is another Jinn, Magni Jinn @DontCallMeCarson 12-56-68 and Pinn Jinn @Eagle Eye 11-34-45pts. @Lemorse7 has done a great job two years in a row putting together championship caliber teams. Best of luck! VANCOUVER’S PACK LOOKS DEADLY Vancouver is known for its winning ways and based on their prospect pool they don’t want to wait long. The last draft showed the Wolves pick a bevy of first rounders that all are set to arrive next season. Add them to the list of young talent they currently have with players like Liv Slater @Subject056who is knocking on the goals scored in a season by defense record and goalie Dalkr Vidarsson @KaleebtheMighty who has 5 shutouts this season and faced 2300 shots on a rebuilding team the future is looking good. Let’s take a look in a few of the prospects set to make the club: Riley Martin @Smarch(Stockholm) RW- RM arrived in Stockholm with a point to prove after being stuck on a dismal club in the VHLM. 86 points in 66 games he’s currently #2 in overall scoring. He hits, passes, and scores. Not sure what else you can ask of him and he will continue to be dangerous in the VHL. Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts(Stockholm) D- This Behemoth of a dman stands 608 250 which makes him the Jack Reacher of the VHLE right now. And like Reacher he plays the game with a big bag of knuckles, leading the league in PIMs 180 and hits 275. However, don’t let his size and grit make you think he’s not offensively skilled. He’s racked up 31 goals this season and 55 assists (86). He’s currently #8 in overall scoring. Logan Ninefingers (Bratislava/Oslo) RW- Logan started his season off with the re-building Oslo Storm and was traded to 2nd place Bratislava at the TDL. Ninefingers currently sits #9 in overall scoring with 71 points (30g-41a) and has 98 PIM (#4) and 209 hits (#2). Vlad Von Carstein @Dom(Bratislava) D- The #6 overall pick in last year’s draft here is another giant of a human. 608 240 its exciting and scary think what a Guntis and VVC defensive pairing looks like. VVC has been deadly this season at almost a point of game pace. 13g (7 on PP) 51a for 64 points. 156 blocked shots show he does the little things for his team to win each night. It’s entirely possible that Bratislava will face Stockholm in the playoffs so these future teammates will be at odds for just a bit longer. But all 4 are hungry to become Wolves and show their GM @Frank that he was wise to choose this group of animals. 688 Girts, Subject056, fonziGG and 4 others 4 2 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/145149-around-the-league/ Share on other sites
