1. I am a team person first, so I would go with winning the VHL championship and having terrible stats.

1) Absolutely the cup every season. Don't get me wrong if you're playing forward literally scoring 5 points a year it's probably kinda boring - I am all for the team but you do need to see some individual production to stay interested - but 8 cups in a row is wild.

2) I very much agree that the player takes more luck and the builder takes more work/effort which is more important, but that's why I'd actually say player. Builder seems like something if you are committed to the league you can accomplish it eventually, but the player takes effort AND the blessing of the sim.

3) Definitely right away. Nothing against the M, I usually enjoy my time there but it's all about the big leagues.

4) While they both sound pretty good, give me the travel.

6) Find the genie.

9) Anywhere in outer space, I don't want anything to do with the deep ocean.

6. Now that Christmas and New Years is over I’m ready for winter to drift away. What next biggest holiday are you looking forward to? Valentine’s Day? St Patrick’s Day? Easter?

1) I've been super underwhelming this season to be honest, one of my worst VHL seasons to date which makes no sense. It kinda sucks but at the end of the day Malmo is in a pretty good place so I can't complain too much. But I wonder where we would be if Rave was playing up to his potential.

 

2) I think we're doing great. Contending for first in the EU & Victory Cup, basically a few points back with a game in hand, you can't ask for much more than that.

 

3) For some reason it seems like Calgary has been our biggest rival in S97. It's weird to say that about a team in the other conference but we've played them 4 times already and always feels like they have our number. Maybe we'll get the chance to get them back in the playoffs.

 

4) Oh heck yeah, a tinted black or dark blue visor would be sweet.

 

7) I'm a Jets fan. There are a few specific players I follow but in particular I still love watching Patrik Laine score goals and want to see him reach his potential, which I think is extremely high. I've become a bit of an Oilers fan as well because McDavid and Draisaitl are so much fun to watch.

 

10) Well, Lucy the player canonically lived in Alberta with the huge backyard rink according to Lightbringer, so it works... I'll bring the Taco Bell  actually, probably a cheesy hashbrown casserole that is one of my favourite things to eat

1. I think Shaw’s been doing pretty decent. I did expect slightly more, but I will take what he’s being doing this season, and hope to continue improving season upon season for the team!

2. I think that we’re lowkey doing really really well. I hope that we can sustain this, and maybe be near the top of the league come playoff time!

4. Yess! Shaw does love himself the colour purple (though I’d be impossible to see through it, it’d be pretty cool

7. Unfortunately I have, as a Canucks fan, it’s been a bit of a rough year. On the bright side Hughes is a superstar like I said he would be in 2020!

8. Usually watch it with my dad, we have this thing where that’s the only game we watch, and my mom and sister come in for the half time show!

1. I have a shot at the triple, quadruple, and quintuple crowns for a goalie. Ecstatic at the prospect of making that happen. Could cement myself in VHL history.

1. I am doing about as well as I thought.  Need to be a little more active to help gain more TPE.

 

2. I am very happy with where the team is right now...  we need to just keep pushing and winning.

 

4. I am not convinced that a tinted vision give a play that much of an advance, so I probably would not wear one.

 

6. I have been a Washington Capitals fan for years. I am obviously following Ovechkin's quest to win the goal-scoring title.

 

8. I will watch the SuperBowl no matter who is playing, but I would be even more into it if the Rams are playing.

1. Really happy with Jensen this year.  He’s been as good as he has ever been and considering it’s his ninth season, I’m pretty thrilled about that.  
 

2. Really happy with how well we have played as well.   But let’s be honest…this team will be judged on the playoffs. So hopefully..this is finally our year. 
 

4. He probably wouldn’t wear one.  With that being said, I do like the dark tinted visors.

2. This week also brings us to this season's Trade Deadline, after Thursday each team won't be able to make any more trades. Do you think Malmo needs to make any trades? Does our roster seem set and ready for playoffs?

3. Trade deadlines are sometimes scary/exciting for players with the thoughts of potentially being shipped away to a new team, new environment, new people. What does your player feel about the possibility of being traded? Are they okay with going somewhere else? Is Malmo the only organization you'd play for?

4. Malmo is still hot halfway through the season! Do you think we have enough fuel in the tank to finish 1st in the league?

5. What has been your favourite part of S97 so far?

6. Sometimes players are just waiting for the season to end and playoffs to start. Are you the type of player who loves playing all 72 regular season games or are you someone who is counting down the days until playoffs?

7. The Malmo Nighthawks are known for our bright green colours as you can see on our logo, we are the only "green" team in the VHL. Do you like our colours/logo? Would you change anything if you could?

8. What colour of tape do you use for your stick? I've always done white tape on the blade and the butt end, have never taped the shaft before, Phil Kessel never influenced me enough.

9. I'm getting tired of winter, I'm not sure if you are too... I would love to book a trip somewhere hot by a beach/ocean. What are some hot destinations you would recommended me to visit?

10. If you could make one animal/insect/fish... etc, go extinct, which one are you choosing? I'm getting rid of those damn mosquitos.

1. I plan to do another episode of my Podcast this week. It has been about 6 weeks, so I am overdue.

 

2. I think we are in good shape right now, so I would not change anything.

 

4. I think we will give this league a run for its money. We just need to keep doing what we are doing.

 

6. I enjoy the whole season. I enjoy seeing my player progress through the season; it doesn't hurt that we are doing well as a team.

 

7. I really like the logo and would not change it.

 

8. My sticks are all taped the same way I have always taped them, black tape on top and white tape on the blade.

2) I think our roster is ready to go, we're playing very well right now.

 

3) I don't want to be traded - I'd love to play my whole career in Malmo. But at the same time I don't want to hold the team back just because I don't want to play somewhere else, so if management were to entertain a rebuild I wouldn't say Malmo is the only place I'd play. At this point in the season though I would be pretty disappointed. Fortunately I have a no-trade clause and would probably activate it if I were to be traded at the deadline... but I am pretty sure I'm not going anywhere lol 

 

4) First in the league in the regular season isn't really a big deal to me, but I do think we are playing well enough to pull it off, yes.

 

5) S97 has been great! It's nice to see @Advantage hit some career milestones like the Malmo all-time record and 700-point marks, it's been great to get to play on a team with @LucyXpher, and @Pifferfish is having a season to remember between the pipes so far which is awesome. But I guess if I had to pick one thing, I think seeing Jensen's accomplishments this season is pretty cool since we've been teammates for so long. He deserves it.

 

6) I mean it depends, there are definitely times where you just want the season to be over with, I think that usually comes when you're not on a competitive team though. With Malmo my whole time here we've always been a good team and quite often in a race for positioning, Victory Cup, etc. so it's been interesting right to the very end.

 

7) Malmo's branding is phenomenal. I do think the logo should get rid of the word "Nighthawks", it's perfect without it. The colours though are so nice.

2. I think our roster is looking really good for the playoffs! The team looks set and has a positive outlook in my opinion, and we could definitely make a splash!

 

3. I mean, I’ve changed teams before, and Malmo is definitely my favourite so far, however, I would never refuse to play for a team, though Malmo is definitely where my heart is for now

6. Definitely I believe that every single game matters, and each game is important so we look at each game as it goes on

AJ, how could you?!  Mosquitos are vital to life on earth!  If mosquitos went extinct, we'd all probably die! (I have no idea if that's true, but it might be)  I think platypuses can go extinct, honestly, they look like an iceage remnant that didn't get the extinction memo anyways, and what do they actually do?  You can't trust a platypus, it's a beaver that pretends it's a duck.  I feel strongly about this which is why this is the only question I'm answering

Also, if we are technical, ducks are birds pretending to be platypuses, platypuses existed first.

I don’t disagree, but platypuses are not beavers really, they’re preyed beavers and pretend ducks.  Basically, they shouldn’t be real, it’s unnerving.

What does your player feel about the possibility of being traded? Are they okay with going somewhere else? Is Malmo the only organization you'd play for?

8. Black tape on the blade is best imo. I know for goalie pads having them blend with the ice better is best. Thus most are white. So I'd assume the reverse works for stick tape logic. You want the puck and blade to blend together to make it tougher on the goalie and defenders.

 

7. Color scheme is fire, a green team is dope. The team name in the logo is stupid looking to me personally.

 

6. I mean, as someone who is near the top in a lot of categories, the season ending now would be great, only place to go is down from here. 

 

5. I've loved what I've been able to do for VSN. I think stepping back from a management role and to a content creation one has been good for the team overall. @LucyXpher has done an AMAZING job. Like I knew she would do awesome but I couldn't be happier with how this has turned out. For one, I just didn't have the ability to fill VSN's biggest hole as Head which was graphics, I'm untalented in that area. Lucy however is fast and efficient in that department. And she also is probably a faster reader than me to edit up these articles hahahaha. I'm quite slow in that regard. On a personal note, I'm really proud of the variety of content I've made this season and the quality of it. I love that I can be proud of stuff I write or the stuff I record. It's fantastic as I was someone who never got that kind of positive reinforcement in HS for my writing. My teacher was a crazy... B word. F you Mrs. Williams.

1) Yeah, I think we can pull it off.

 

3) Honestly don't really care. You have to beat the best to be the best.

 

4) Definitely just to win the Cup especially with how my time here in Malmo has gone so far.

 

5) It definitely hasn't quite been the season I wanted to have as far as Rave's production go, but I can't complain with how the team's doing.

 

6) Lovstrom should be the MVP of the entire league, so him for sure.
