jRuutu 2,475
They are if you ask me. The off-topic section of VHL welcomed a new addition as "Official “what do you drive” thread " - thread was created. On the surface, the thread is all fun and good as members of the community are encouraged to share stories and pictures of their cars, but when you scratch the surface you get a strong whiff of inadequacy and jealousy. It is hard not to think whether you have made the right choices in life when you look at the pictures in the thread. It is hard not to think whether you should look for a second job or go back to school instead of spending valuable time and effort in VHL. Those are questions that I don't think VHL should ask from its members. I can only speak for myself here, but I think I would rather see kaotic videos, anime, and recipes being posted to this forum than something as obnoxious as pictures of cars the members of VHL drive. What next? Are we going to compare the contents of our bank accounts? What is the size of our stock/cryptocurrency portfolios? What countries have everybody visited? This weekend VHL showed its ugly face. Triller 1,685
Vehicles are so stupid expensive these days along with everything else I couldn't imagine prioritizing my car, beyond simply being reliable, unless that vehicle was my means of making money. Owing on a vehicle would drive me nuts but to some, owing is simply a constant these days. jRuutu 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/147582-are-pictures-of-cars-considered-violence/#findComment-1024432 Share on other sites

It would take me over an hour and a half to get to work if I had to take the bus, that's just not something I'm capable of doing. The EV was honestly "spend a bit more now but save way more in the long term" Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/147582-are-pictures-of-cars-considered-violence/#findComment-1024436 Share on other sites

The EV was honestly "spend a bit more now but save way more in the long term" I had to spend 1h 10min on transit cause with traffic, driving would have taken 2 hours. EV was never even an option due to living in an old apartment building. Saved for a house and drove the same car for 15 years instead. Pontiac Vibe held it down when I needed it and it was all I needed. When I retire and the kids are out of the house then maybe I will snatch the car I've wanted back since I sold it. Sometimes people having old ass beaters is entertaining too, that was really the point there and was actually what 3/5 of the things posted were. But yeah transit around here is pretty broken, the drive is only 25 minutes so a bus shouldn’t be 3x as long plus a long walk which I didn’t even factor in. Especially with the kids it’s just not feasible. The EV was honestly "spend a bit more now but save way more in the long term" When I lived in Cole Harbor it was faster to run to Halifax than take the bus!! Which I did most days when I was 18-21yr old. Now it would be car all day!! LOL!! Also EV/hybrid that we have in Japan would also save you money instantly on gas since with hybrid I can double my range on single tank of gas. My Hybrid moped gets further on 4L of gas than my car doing around the same speeds. I have a stupid range like 50-60km on the moped, I love bombing around all over the place here on it!! It funny the things you would do outside your own country but never get caught doing in your home country!! LOL! jRuutu 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/147582-are-pictures-of-cars-considered-violence/#findComment-1024496 Share on other sites
