Frank 4,897 Posted June 9 Share Posted June 9 Today Vancouver is very proud to raise the number 70 of Brandt Fuhr @Tate to the rafters. He had a very successful career in Vancouver both individually and collectively. Brandt will go down as the greatest goaltender in Wolves history until someone tries to oust him, which will be a difficult task! Brandt Fuhr was drafted 2nd overall by the Wolves in the Season 83 VHL draft and would step into the league immediately. His first two seasons he played in front of a dire squad in the midst of a rebuild but still put up a very impressive .927 SV PCT over that span. In his third season the team started to turn a corner and Fuhr's career really took off. He would put up 6 consecutive 30 wins seasons the Wolves would make the playoffs in all of those seasons. It would culminate to two finals appearances in Season 86 and 89, with a Continental Cup victory in 86. Fuhr holds all-time records for Vancouver in wins with 270. Shutouts with 29.
