*Addiction Warning*

 

I've finally done it, I've come to terms with my own brain and body and have decided to start my journey of quitting my addiction with weed! I've seen members like @Banackock and @Kisslinger in the past make posts about their struggles and how they've overcome them as well. This has always motivated me but I've never been able to do it myself. I have been struggling with the Flower for three years now and I want to take control of my life again. The best way I can explain my experience with weed is that I have a hyper-active brain, when I'm on the weed I feel like I can calm down and think more clearly. Weed has also controlled my boredom, when I'm bored I love to relax and enjoy my high to enjoy my time. This is not healthy. I was actively smoking dab carts daily, I would always wake up fatigued, I would lose motivation to do daily tasks because I just wanted to get high.

 

I've now transitioned to the sober life, I'm currently on day 5 of no smoking! It's crazy to think that every time I message @Spartan now I won't be stoned  My body and mind has been fucked up the past few days. Insomnia, Loss of Appetite.... I've lost 20 pounds this summer from constantly smoking and not taking care of myself (I can definitely gain my weight back in these next few weeks, I'm not stressing) . It's a breath of fresh air to be able to announce this to this community. I see you all as family, being able to better myself for my family makes me so happy.

 

July 2nd is my 23rd birthday. On July 2nd I want to celebrate my birthday sober, I don't remember the last time I did that (drinking or smoking). Is that not kinda sad? I'm very excited and determined to reach my goal of sobriety and to keep pushing further than my upcoming Birthday. I hope anyone struggling with addictions can see this and feel motivated to quit whatever they are going through as well. I feel already that I am more motivated and energized to do more with my life, can't wait to see myself glowing in a week, a month, a year. I have a Football season coming up, I want this bad!!

This is awesome AJ, and congrats on making this decision and the progress you’ve made so far!  I don’t judge people for their habits or addictions because we all have our demons and ways of coping with life, but it’s always inspiring to see someone owning it and being open about stuff like this to make a change for the better!  So if you ever need anything— a chat or a pick me up, I’m always here for you and I know you’ve got what it takes to stay sober and keep improving yourself!

Ahah this is awesome brother!! Proud of you for making this choice! Funny enough, i was going to go update my journey today! It’s a journey that will have its ups and downs but I’m sure in the end you’ll get it done!

Yeah I went back last year! We won OUA and then got pumped by Montreal in the Vanier Cup semi finals. I was only the punter last season, I smoked way too much last season and it 100% affected my play. I’m hoping to take over Punting, Kicking and Kickoffs this season though, just gotta put the work in
