What stops you from applying to recruitment job?

Want to spark recruitment. Mostly just me in there doing things. What’s stopping you from recruiting? Choose all that apply. Votes are public.

I voted for what my reasonings would be despite being on the recruitment team.

 

I put in hours and hours a week. Hard to put a number on it, but all league commissioners are in there as well as BOG members. They can all validate it. It’s mostly daily, certainly every other day. Takes me 5-10 minutes to use voice-to-text to spew out 500 words of garbage for 6 TPE. A lot easier than hours of work every week for 6 TPE. 

If I wasn’t already involved with other jobs (VHLM GM and VSN sometimes), I’d consider applying.  I just don’t want to overcommit to things that will divide my time and focus too much from what I’ve already got going on.

That’s very fair. Should have included that. Wonder if I still can. 
 

You’d be a massive asset to the recruitment team.

Too much of the work falls on one person. Having specific categories of jobs within recruitment (ex. Social media head, advertisements, cross league, etc)

might be more interesting or more functional. I’d be more inclined to help if I just did social media posts and not have to worry about finding YouTubers, podcasters, etc to partner with at the same time.

I do not think that my skill set (or lack thereof) would necessarily fit the needs for a recruitment team member. Plus with two children as well as two dogs and a full time job I struggle to find the time. Which means it would probably clash with my league job as updater.

The role, along with the league upkeep roles, seem a bit too much like actual jobs and I'd like to keep this more in the hobby realm.  I very much appreciate the people who do these jobs but there is too much at stake with recruitment and I wouldn't want to not be able to contribute 100%.  That's why I just help out when I can.

 

Also, I don't do social media and I only go on Reddit to learn how to do random stuff I want to learn to do.  No account.

I know my work wouldn't be best used on the Recruitment side of the equation. I'm far more valuable as a member of the Retention team. Always WANTED to do Recruitment, but I don't have anything novel to contribute. Never been one for marketing or social media.

Like most jobs that I been apart of in any capacity within the VHL, I find that most of the actual work doesn`t really match the TPE amounts being paid so by not having a job, I can earn easier with much less work and also have more flexibility on the ways to earn my TPE. It felt like I did a lot of the work for free or at a lost compared to if I didn`t have the job.

 

And yes, I know that as an AGM I have no rights so the work I do is free!! LOL!!

I see I have similar views to some of the others o have commented on this thread.

 

Personally, I don’t think I have the skills to be an asset on a recruitment team other than giving opinions. I have thought about that before, but nowadays I’ve been having less and less time to dedicate to the league and with the other jobs I hold, I don’t want to commit to something I will not be able to do and leave other people to suffer for it.
