The VHL Entry Draft is old news. The offseason has come and gone. Training camp? In the books. The squads are finalized, the ice is fresh, and it's finally time to drop the puck on the VHL regular season. With that in mind, I thought it might be interesting to do a bit of a team by team analysis, focusing on players north of the 1,000 TPE border.

Calgary Wranglers:
F - 3
D - 0
G - 0

Led by right winger Thor Reingaard, the Wranglers have a full line of 1,000 TPE+ forwards. Joining Reingaard is center Raimo Tuominen and left winger Adi Dassler.

Chicago Phoenix
F - 1
D - 0
G - 0

Chicago's lone 1,000 TPE player is left winger Joshua Schwarzer. Center Spanish Moon Moth isn't too far behind with 942.

D.C. Dragons
F - 0
D - 0
G - 0

Zip, nada, zilch. No one even close.

H.C. Davos Dynamo
F - 2
D - 1
G - 1

Center Antonia Bucatini [goddammit now I want pasta] and left winger Grimgor Ironhide make for a dynamic duo up front, and Mina adds another 1,000+ on the blue line. We also have our first goaltender with Merome Dilson.

Helsinki Titans
F - 0
D - 0
G - 0

See Dragons, D.C.

London United
F - 0
D - 0
G - 0

See Titans, Helsinki

Los Angeles Stars
F - 0
D - 0
G - 0

Negative. I'm not that far into this list and what I'm seeing is a real clear picture of consolidation of talent, which I guess isn't surprising but is kind of discouraging. Maybe there are too many teams in the VHL?

Malmo Nighthawks
F - 1
D - 1
G - 0

Center Phillip Rave has eclipsed the 1,200 TPE mark, and defenseman Jacon Stone is *just* a hair behind at 1,192.

Moscow Menace
F - 2
D - 1
G - 0

Center depth! Both Jarmo Ruutu and George Richmond are over the 1,000 TPE mark. In fact, they're both over the 1,100 mark, as well. Defender Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage is sitting pretty at 1,168. Menacing indeed.

New York Americans
F - 2
D - 1
G - 1

Recently-converted defender to forward Jebediah Big Ol Doinks in Amish, which has my vote for maybe the weirdest goddamn name in VHL history, is one of two forwards for the Americans over the 1,000 mark. Leading the charge up front, though, is Maxim Anisimov, who is over 1,100. Joining them is defender Callum Gary Yannick Janser, who is just under 1,200, and our second goalie, THE BIG STRING OF THE LETTER W, with 1,045.

Prague Phantoms
F - 0
D - 0
G - 0

Goose eggs.

Riga Reign
F - 2
D - 1
G - 1

Axle Gunner's over 1,200, Severus Targaryen is just under 1,100, and defenseman Mean Mark Calaway sits right between them at 1,158. And Riga has the third goalie on the list, with Red Panda. I don't get all the panda names in this league.

Seattle Bears
F - 1
D - 0
G - 0

Left Winger Eric White, Jr. is a sliver under the 1,100 mark, and goalie Giorgiy Constanzov is well on his way to joining the 1,000 club as he currently sits at 950.

Toronto Legion
F - 2
D - 1
G - 1

Two of the oldest, if not the two oldest, players on this list are center Diego Machado and winger Harry Callahan, the latter of whom is nearly at 1,300 TPE. On the blue line is another oldster in Bobby Bob, with 1,145. And then there's the goalie, Dalkr Vidarsson, who literally sits at 1,000 flat.

Vancouver Wolves
F - 3
D - 1
G - 0

Only the second team to have three 1,000 TPE forwards, the Wolves are led by Logan Ninefingers, a right winger. After him is Riley Martin, who also plays on the right side, and center King Kisslinger, who just barely makes the cut at 1,002. On the blue line, Vancouver has my buddy Guntis Gavilrovs with 1,046 TPE.

Warsaw Predators
F - 0
D - 0
G - 1

This one should be interesting to keep tabs on, as goaltender Olober Syko has 1,264 TPE, and the next highest TPE count on the roster is backup goaltender Pipo Popa with 604. The roster is so sparse that there are only 4 non-goalies on the team, and the highest TPE count is 554 for forward Behrens Minion.

Bonus: We analyzed the data and made a pie chart!

Unless you consider @rory and me as chopped liver, your math isn't mathing, despite the intricate pie chart ;)

Jokes aside that is a very informative summary and certainly interesting to see what conclusions we can draw at the end of S96...

Oops. Must have gotten distracted with the head count at that point. Fixed.

Light mode on any site is atrocious. #TeamDark

Dark mode discord, dark mode portal, light mode forum. The forum just doesn’t look good dark.

I do find it funny though, when I used to make skins for the league back in the day people would always complain if I made a dark one. Now people don’t want to use light ones.

For me it's a vision thing. Light mode sites give me headaches, even with blue light glasses.

Of note to the actual content of this: I assume everywhere you say TPE you mean TPA since there's a lot more players than this north of 1K TPE.
