scoop 3,447
Slater's heroics give Vancouver the win in Game One For the New York Americans, it was a strong start to their first playoff game since Season 92, but the offense stalled after taking a 2-0 lead in the first period. This allowed Vancouver to get back into the game. At the end of the second period, the score was tied at 2-2. The third period saw the Wolves in control, as they outshot the Americans 19-9, but stellar play from New York's WWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWW in net gave their team the opportunity to regroup for an overtime period. Just over a minute into the game, Liv Slater put an end to the hope with a game winner, adding on to her assist from earlier in the game to earn her the first star. Davos vs Riga appears to be headed to a familiar outcome as Dynamo take Game Two The most common playoff matchup in VHL history is Davos vs Riga, which is now happening for the 22nd time. Although Riga reigned when they met a season ago, the Dynamo actually hold a 16-5 edge in what is also one of the most lopsided matchups in playoff history. Davos' victory in Game Two of the series has them on track to further extend that historical lead. For Davos, it took an incredible performance from Merome Dilson to get the victory. Looking to end his career on a high note, Dilson faced a barrage of 56 shots, allowing just one goal. His counterpart, Red Panda, was pulled by the Reign after allowing a third goal early in the second period. RIG G2 came in and shut things down the rest of the way, which could perhaps make Riga reconsider who should be starting in this series.
