S96 Founder's Cup Final set

It took a Game 7 but the S96 Founder’s Cup Final is all set!

 

The Mississauga Hounds exacted revenge on the Philadelphia Reapers who beat the Hounds in the second round last season in a close series to reach their first Cup Final since their first Founder’s Cup win in S90. The Ottawa Lynx, meanwhile, came back from being down 2-0 against San Diego to win four straight against the Marlins and reach their second Final in four years after being swept in S93 by the Saskatoon Wild. This couldn’t be a more evenly matched Final as both the Hounds and the Lynx finished with 93 points in the regular season and they both had the exact same goal differential as well with a +46!

 

Both teams have their leaders.

 

Mississauga’s Filip Zinek @FiZi and Ottawa’s Ocean Codoller @FreshOceanCod currently co-lead playoff goal scorers with 8 each and while Codoller also shares the lead with 4 power play goals, Zinek and fellow Hound Cardinal Copia @Beketov are the only players so far with a short-handed goal. Ottawa’s Drosmis Sarkanis @Mr Bohannan is leading the playoffs with 12 assists and 18 points and Lynx teammates Masa Akimoto @Hokikeijot and Joel Jakobs @Plate are tops with a +13 rating. Hounds’ blueliner Kurt Bachmann’s @Blutch 40 hits is tops and Owen two @do3bo1 of the Lynx is the most penalized with 28 PIM. S96 2^nd OV pick River Harrington @kirbithan is tied for the lead with 3 game-winning goals.

 

The Final could come down to goaltending as the Hounds’ Deadpanda @Alex leads the playoffs with 8 wins, 304 shots against, is one of four goalies with a shutout and is third in SV% (0.918) and GAA (1.95). The issue may be that Dr Victor von Doom @Garsh took over the starting role for the Lynx and won them the last series including a shutout in the deciding Game 6. He currently leads the playoffs with a 1.40 GAA and 0.926 SV% albeit only in five games.
