EA Access is actually looking pretty good, I'll be getting in on this asap

$5 a month might be worth it with a larger library but with it only being 4 games right now I don’t think it’s really a great service.

I'd get the 30$/year which is definitely good value. Three of those games are all still selling for well over 30$ each. The 10% off DLC and the game itself will end up saving me money too since I buy HUT packs and sports games.

I'm more interested in the 5 day early access to new releases like NHL 15 though. I had the season ticket before on the 360.

EA doing something decent for once (Y)

As far as I know you only have access to the games for a limited time and once they're gone you lose everything. No thanks.

Yeah that's how I interpreted as well:

If you're an EA Access member, you can download upcoming EA games five days before the release date to play for a limited time.

Sounds like more of a sneak peak/extented demo for me.

Getting to play some older games that, if I haven't bought them so far I'm probably not very interested in anyway, isn't worth a monthly fee for me as well and unless you are buying a ton of EA products each year, neither are the 10% off on digital purchases that are usually kind of overpriced to begin with.

Of course the 5 days is only a limited time... You aren't going to be paying 30$/yr for all the newest EA games lol

It's the same as the season pass for the 360/PS3 where you got to download the early release on Friday and play it up to Tuesday (the release date). I got it multiple years just for NHL so I could get a head start on EASHL.

Hopefully this turns out great. For me this is already killer deal. I guess you're right, not so much if you have a PS4 though.

10% of 69.99 is about 7$

so if I buy just the sports titles, NHL, Fifa, Madden that's 21$ right there.

Prices are a bit different here in Germany obviously, but usually there is a pretty good chance to save a few dollars/euros when I pick the game up in a store here or via amazon compared to the digital purchases, so bringing the price for the digital purchase down to €63 doesn't really mean much to me if I have a decent chance to get the games for €60-65 anyway. But maybe we are just different kinds of customers, I'm only planning to get two EA games this year and never bought any packs for HUT/FUT, so what looks like a bad deal to me might make more sense for you.

Where is that 30$/year number coming from by the way, all I've read so far on the access page is $5 per month and they usually use the cheapest possible monthly rate in their promos.

So I am finally without a console. I do still have my Vita but after selling the 360 with games yesterday I'm back at square one until I can save up to get a PS4. Thankfully I've got an alright PC to do some indy stuff and play SWTOR and I recently just got Rogue Legacy on Vita, which was an amazing indy on PC. It plays perfect for the Vita.

Elder Scross VI won't be out for quite some time. The next game that studio is working on is Fallout 4. Elder Scrolls will be after by 2-3 years. Whatever the next Elder Scrolls game proper Bethesda (Todd Howards team) does will be like 2018 at the earliest.

Need some Elder Scrolls VI info.

lol have fun with that.

Fallout 4 hasn't even been announced yet and who knows when it will be. Gonna be a looooooooooooong time before Elder Scrolls is heard from again, outside of TESO.

Yeah they usually take about 3-4 years to make a game. Fallout 4 hasn't been announced but they will be far more done it than people think. They didn't announce Skyrim till like 2010 and it came out in 2011. That studio always likes to announce what they are working on a lot closer to release, simply because they take so long to work on stuff. If we speculate that next year will have been 4 years since Skyrim, I'd say we hear something about Fallout at next years E3 and it comes out in like spring 2016. I'd put the next Elder Scrolls game at 2018-2019 probably.

I'm sure they do. But games generally don't get revealed unless the release is in the next 12 months for two reasons. One is that the game just falls out of the public eye and what was a hyped title just gets a reaction of indifference. Watch Dogs was really close to getting hammered by this, but it was a half-decent game that released in a time where there was next to no competition so it sold incredibly well. A few years from now when the PS4 and Xbox One are into full swing and the market isn't so barren, that's not going to happen. The other is simply that games get changed a lot from their inception to the final product. Go compare the original footage of BioShock Infinite to what we got in the release for a good example. Elder Scrolls VI likely isn't even in production right now, it may not even be in pre-production yet.

I just started Divinity: Original Sin and think it's awesome :). It has a bit of an old-school feel to it and the fights are turn-based, but the fighting system wasn't exactly Skyrims strong suit so that shouldn't be a problem. I find it to be extremely motivating so far!

At the risk of sounding fanboyish (or worse, like Kesler) I’m actually hyped for CoD which hasn’t happened in a few years. All the new movement mechanics, customization elements, loot system, etc that was showed off for Advanced Warfare really looks like it will breath life into the franchise. I just really hope I’m not being blinded by the lights on the hype train this time around. Sledgehammer has a chance to do something amazing here.
