A lot of people I know and what I have seen on youtube, Destiny and Titanfall were super hyped and didnt turn out to be that good. Yes there interesting and on next gen and what not, but they were just over hyped from what I have heard anyways. The just dont loook like my type of games and I am not going to buy them (I may play them) but do you guys feel the same way?

I could see Destiny going the way of Titanfall - super popular for a week or so and then fading out. However, I think it all comes down to content management. If Destiny is better about putting out fresh content quickly and on a good schedule, then it will have more staying power than Titanfall. I think people got bored with what was there for Titanfall, and there wasn't fresh content quick enough.

I may try out Destiny if it has some staying power and if anyone I know picks it up sometime down the road a bit.

It's an interesting case with Destiny imho. To me it feels like the game is a bit of a disappointment in that it isn't nearly as groundbreaking as it could have been, it has glaring weaknesses that nobody would have expected before the release and considering how much time and money the developers had at their hands, the game just could have been a lot better. At the same time though, my first week with the game has been a blast, despite all the weaknesses I love playing it and whenever I had some time in the evenings over the last few days, I couldn't put the game down. And I haven't even gotten into playing with people that I know yet, so that should add another level of enjoyment as well once I get to it. I fear that the game might become boring relatively soon unless they are really fast with content updates (I'm not planning to buy any DLCs though), but for now I am thoroughly enjoying my experience, even with the glaring weaknesses that there are.

This is basically it. Even people who love the game openly acknowledge the flaws, because they're definitely there. Despite that, the game is fun. It's trying to be some kind of quasi-MMO (without the massive part) so a large part of Destiny's continued success is going to hinge on how it is supported via weekly events, free content, and paid DLC.

It's less about it being free and more about the content being of a good quality. It already looks like there will be some story missions added next month, and depending on how much content is added in the paid expansions my opinion on the game is going to change. Destiny is clearly built to be long-lasting and evolve over time. The question now is will Bungie be able to pull that off.

Just got Duck Hunt, who wants to play?

Hope you don't have an LCD, LED, or plasma TV. It won't work if you do :P

I care. My hype is so much that I can't even comprehend it. :P

Truthfully though what other commentary is there to add with the gifs? The game looks amazing. I love the fact that they got rid of the shield and added a gun. I think it'll force a lot of people (myself included) who found a specific strategy with the Souls games to adapt and learn some of the nuances of the new mechanics. I love the setting. I love pretty much all the proposed changes. It's just a matter for me now of waiting till it comes out. :P

Double post, ALRIGHT. PS4 set up! Destiny installed! I got it all set up late last night because I had to Pajodcast and then because I work a physical job wasn't able to stay up. So I slept. The Destiny begins today!

I seriously hate that you have one and I don't BTW :P

It is a shitty feeling, I've been there. But I sold my PS3 and 360 in like July prepping for a PS4 and then shit just kept happening that prevented me from getting it. So I've literally been without a console for a few months, watching everyone else react to Destiny and rave about new games. I just wanted to get this shit over with ha.

Why don't you go out and get one? Or do you plan on getting one soon?

I plan on getting one soon but need to handle some other finance stuff first. Haven't had a lot of work in the past few months.

Fuck, I want a PS4 so bad.

Same, but I most likely won't get one until Black Friday/Christmas season at the absolute earliest, more like next Black Friday realistically.

Just going to have to have Smash Bros for 3DS hold me over until then.
