Wayne Gretzky Joins the Vancouver Wolves in Off-Season Blockbuster.

Recommended Posts

The Vancouver Wolves made a blockbuster trade with the New York Americans sending their star defensemen Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts in exchange for Wayne Gretzky @MubbleFubbles. The trade was met with mixed reaction as Guntis ultimately waived his no trade clause. Unlike two seasons ago when Vancouver GM sprung the trade on Guntis and he declined to waive stating his desire to win a cup in Vancouver and his belief in the team. The belief paid off and the Wolves won a cup in Season 96. Unfortunately with the news of the lowering cap, keeping the core together just wouldn't have been possible. Fans directed their anger to ownership and management, but mostly ownership. Guntis was coming off an MVP caliber season for Vancouver and will surely be up for several awards if not win them. In Gretzky the Canucks get a late bloomer who has a very high ceiling. It's clear the plan in Vancouver is to load up on offense and see where that gets them, as they have four forwards well above 1100 tpa. Early indications are that Vancouver plans to enter the season with a smaller roster and attempt to fill holes as the season progresses, so to speak. The hope is Gretzky will have instant chemistry with the returning forwards and Bollos can carry a pairing by himself. Newly acquired Collberg @Masu Chan and sophomore Mathiesen @xsjack will form the other pair for Vancouver both are very good defensemen in their own right and at varying stages of their careers.

So plz don't hate me get excited Vancouver fans!
