A clever tactical move or a disgrace?

Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage D -> C.

Before Obuz made the move from defender to a center they had played slightly over 500 games as a defender at the highest level,  they produced on over point per game pace from the blue line and won multiple awards. So far as a center Obuz has 31 points in 19 games, if they were to produce at a similar pace for a full year Obuz would fairly surely reach 100 points for the third time in their career.

But at what cost? Even when Obuz is going to have a productive season and maybe even win an individual award, they are further away from the Hall of Fame than they would have been if they played the ongoing season on the blueline and produced less. Or they should be at least. In a league where a defender who collects the most assists is seen worthy of 0 votes when deciding who is the best offensive defender, it would not surprise me if the solid season from Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage is seen extra impressive because they made the jump from defense to center. In my eyes, the expected impressive statistics are not impressive when considering Obuz was created with well over 1500 TPE and built to perform. It is not surprising at all that they are doing well. Any potential Hall of Fame discussions of Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage should be analyzed as two separate cases: Obuz as a forward and Obuz as a defender.

A far greater problem is the position switch itself. The move from defense to center so late in a player's career should not be possible.  Such a move is closer to cheating than something you would expect to see in a  "realistic" simulated hockey experience. Ideally, you could give the player the chance to make a position switch in the first two seasons of their career. That way you can give players some freedom to make a sacrifice for their team or if they want to go a different route. Such a move would also be "believable" as there are stories of players making a position switch early on in their careers.

Another problem I have is the voting in this league. I think any user who is given the responsibility of voting should be forced to film themselves watching one game of hockey from start to end before they are allowed to share their vote. It does not have to be live at the arena, a simple stream or televised match is suitable. If they are at any point caught checking their phone or if they do not at least once per period comment on a play in a way that suggests they understand the game of hockey - they should be fired from the voting committee and banned from participating in any voting process for a minimum of five (5) seasons.

If the league is serious about increasing realism: position changes need to be looked at, only people who have watched a minimum of one game of hockey should be on the voting committee, and Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage should be forced to go back to the blueline - they do not belong to the middle, they will never be a real center.

If I got the recognition I deserved last season I wouldn't feel the need to switch positions and take on this new challenge instead. I am simply a product of this league's mismanagement

I record myself scrolling through the sim game logs and then rewatch it in slow motion, does that count?
