Baby Boomer 828
@slothfacekilla Welcome everyone, It is finally time for the best moments of the season, the PLAYOFFS!! Yesterday was the start of the playoffs in the VHL, in the VHLM and in the NHL, so we are going to see a lot of hockey playoffs in the next couple of weeks. Once again, we had a really interesting regular season with a lot of surprises and we hope to see even more in the playoffs. Quarter-final #1 - Houston Bulls (1) vs Ottawa Lynx (8) Regular season series: HOU wins 7-0-0. I think it goes without saying that this series will be over in 4 games and nobody will really be surprised. Indeed, the Houston Bulls finished first in the standings with a record of 59 wins, 8 losses and 5 losses in overtime for a total of 123 points in 72 games. Led by Gingy @MexicanCow123 and Cardinal Copia @Beketov offensively and by Dog Jagr @koty_k and Feka Ohi Kau @Hacob defensively, the team is looking really good and will be really difficult to beat in the playoffs. In the net, Bartholomew Lorequavius @jaypc8237 will also be a really important player for the Houston Bulls in this playoff run. On the other side, if Ottawa wants to win a game, Owen two @do3bo1 and Kyle Evans @Kyle Evans will have to play on top of their head. VSN Prediction: Houston wins in 4 games. Quarter-final #2 - Philadelphia Reapers (2) vs Las Vegas Aces (7) Regular season series: PHI wins 6-1-1. Just like the other series, the series between the Philadelphia Reapers and the Las Vegas Aces is going to be a short one. The Philadelphia Reapers finished the regular season second with 54 wins, 13 losses and 5 overtime losses for 113 points in 72 games. After finishing 3rd, 4th and 5th in points with 100, 90 and 85 points respectively, ALTO RED @alto_red, Joseph Poole @Itz_Viperz and Adam Joy @MrMom will have a lot of responsabilities in the playoffs as they will be the top players for the Reapers for the rest of the playoffs. Philadelphia acquired the goalkeeper Toby Bob @Baby Boomer at the trade deadline and he will without a doubt have a positive impact with the team. VSN Prediction: Philadelphia wins in 5 games. Quarter-final #3 - Halifax 21st (3) vs Saskatoon Wild (7) Regular season series: HFX wins 5-1-1. This series should be a little bit more interesting than the first two as the Saskatoon Wild should be able to put up a fight against the Halifax 21st. In 72 games this season, the 21st won 47 games, lost 18 games in regulation and lost 7 games in overtime for 101 points and the Wild recorded 34 wins, 33 losses and 7 losses in overtime for 73 points in 72 games. In offense, Hater Tottingham @Trunkxolotl will have to be the leader of this team and defensively Chad Powers @Big_Dyl will need to be a big wall in front of the net. At the trade deadline, the Saskatoon Wild decided to trade their best players to acquire draft picks in the upcoming drafts and prospects. Because of this decision, the Wild will have some difficulties in the playoffs this season, but it was definitely the best decision for the future. VSN Prediction: Halifax wins in 5 games. Quarter-final #4 - Mexico City Kings (4) vs Mississauga Hounds (5) Regular season series: MEX wins 4-3-1. The series between the Mexico City Kings and the Mississauga Hounds is probably going to be the only interesting series of the first round as either team could win this series. The Mexico City Kings and the Mississauga Hounds finished the season with 44 wins and 96 points and 38 wins and 84 points respectively. The Kings will be led by Ryan Mantz @Rkhockey9, Ronan Amnon @Breeze837 and Peter Venkman @Josh and the Hounds will have to count on Sidney Sheppard @GoodLeftUndone and Kurt Bachmann @Blutch to lead the team offensively and defensively. The difference in my opinion will be in the net as Pepe Silvia @STZ will probably stole a game or two in this series. VSN Prediction: Mexico City wins in 6 games. Semi-final #1 - Houston Bulls (1) vs Mexico City Kings (4) Regular season series: HOU wins 6-2-2. This first semi-final is going to be pretty interesting as the winners of the Prime Minister's Cup will face the Mexico City Kings. The Houston Bulls won the season series between the two teams with 6 wins, 2 losses and 2 losses in overtime for 14 points in a possibility of 20. I believe that the Mexico City Kings can give the Houston Bulls a hard time in this series, but at the end of the day, the Bulls are in my opinion too good for the Kings. This series won't be over in four games as Mexico City will do everything they can to win, but it won't go in seven games either. VSN Prediction: Houston wins in 6 games. Semi-final #2 - Philadelphia Reapers (2) vs Halifax 21st (3) Regular season series: PHI wins 8-1-0. After two easy first rounds for the Philadelphia Reapers and the Halifax 21st, it is now going to be way more difficult to win this second round. Indeed, the two teams are almost identical on paper and I really think that this series could go either way. The only thing that can give an advantage to a team is the season series winners as the Philadelphia Reapers won it 8 games to 1. The Reapers completely dominated the 21st during the regular season and even if the playoffs and the regular season are two different things, I would still give the advantage to the Philadelphia Reapers because of this reason. VSN Prediction: Philadelphia wins in 6 games. Founder's Cup Final - Houston Bulls (1) vs Philadelphia Reapers (2) Regular season series: HOU wins 4-2-1. In the final of the Founder's Cup playoffs the Houston Bulls will face the Philadelphia Reapers, the top two teams of the regular season will face each other in a best of 7 series to determine the winner of this season's Founder's Cup. It will once again be a really interesting series as the two teams are pretty similar on paper even if I give a little edge to Houston. Both teams could win it, but I think that the Houston Bulls will come up on top. VSN Prediction: Houston wins the Founder's Cup in 7 games. That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading and I wish you all great playoffs! See you in the next VSN article! P.S. the article was written before the sims of sunday the 20th. Mike 747
Very disappointed in the lack of coverage on the Houston vs Ottawa backup goalie debate.
