Hello VHL fans! Welcome to a new chapter of international madness! Yes, it’s finally happened - after spending the last eight seasons illegally claiming World Cup Commissioner job pay, it's my time to step out and write this thing myself. What could go wrong?

 

This season, the World Cup heads somewhere truly chill. We’re talking snow, ice, and more snow! That’s right, for the first time, we’re taking the tournament north. North like "did-my-face-just-freeze-during-warmups" north.

 

Why? Well, we figured the players needed a little humility after all those luxury venues. Nothing says "national pride" like windburn and triple-layer thermal equipment. So grab your mittens, tape your stick, and prepare for frozen faces and fiery rivalries. The S98 World Cup of Hockey is here - and it's going to be cooler than ever.

 

 Teams and rosters 

 

The rosters are being worked on as we speak, and once again, the best of the best will be representing their regions with pride, skill, and a bucket-full of international spite. Which veterans will return to chase another medal? Which rookies are poised to have breakout performances? Only time - and a highly subjective spreadsheet - will tell.

Here’s how it works:

 

Pick your squad:

3 Forwards

2 Defensemen

1 Goalie

 

 Compare your lineup to the Best Possible Team (top 3 Forwards, top 2 Defensemen, top Goaltender in total points).
If your total lands within:
90-100% -> 3 TPE
80-89.99% -> 2 TPE

70-79.99% -> 1 TPE

Below 70% -> 0 TPE

☝ Bonus: Choose a nation you think will win it all.
If your pick wins gold, your final score gets a 5% boost!

 

It’s simple, and it’s probably going to end in heartbreak when your forward starts a fight and your goalie forgets how to goalie. But that’s the beauty of Simon, right?
