The most storied and original hockey country is back and ready to fight for more medals this season and we have assembled one of the most tenacious and likeable squads possible. Congratulations to all the selected players! Goaltenders Herald Benson @Benson Coming off of the best and final season of their career with D.C, Benson is ready to go out with a bang in their second time representing Canada in the World Cup. Ricky LaFleur @DarkSpyro LaFleur has been an amazing goalie wherever they've played, and after a promising rookie season will get their first chance on the biggest international stage. Defencemen Andrew Skilton "C" @ace_five_ Canada's highest TPA player is coming off an award-caliber season and returns as captain after being one of the most crucial players on the S96 squad! River Harrington "A" @kirbithan Harrington may have fallen just short in the Continental Cup finals with Moscow, but the rising star will be even hungrier for gold in his first WC appearance. Slava Kovalenko @OblivionWalker Kovalenko more than doubled his VHL rookie points tally last year, and is on the move again to Toronto, now representing Canada in both national and club play. DB IV @wcats Another returner from S96, DB recorded career highs in goals (21) and hits (205) this year and will bring a much needed physical edge to our blueline. Forwards Wayne Gretzky @MubbleFubbles Despite their 1141 TPA, this will be their first time representing Team Canada at a World Cup. Gretzky will be a great leader and a very responsible player. Joshua Schwarzer @Velevra Canada welcomes back another top performer from the S96 tournament, and one of the greatest players in Chicago Phoenix history (3rd in G, 5th in P). Matteo Stefano @mmrs617 Stefano, one of the VHL's underrated players, will play his first tournament after a season where he tallied 40 goals and tripled his hit total with 240! Brandon Petan Jr @sadie S97's top rookie looks to build on a 35-goal sophomore season where he played an increasingly physical game for D.C in his first WC tournament. Eric White Jr "A" @Mysterious_Fish This roster's oldest player is making a team-high 3rd appearance for Canada at this tournament, and looks to cap a storied career with gold! Martin Kemp @leafsman This is also Kemp's last hurrah, and what will likely be an emotional first time representing Canada in their final professional games. I'm excited to work (and play) with all of you, and I look forward to the gold medal!
