Another busy week has come and gone and it seems our rankings shuffle even more every week we issue a new board. The back half of the board hasn't changed much considering some of those prospects are missing in action. The top half of our board is constantly fluctuating as you can see by the lottery positions above. Pablo Escabar has risen the charts quite quickly and has shown he is a great lottery selection come draft day. Casper Solomon had risen very quickly as well after debuting just a couple weeks ago. Erik Hedman has been steadily climbing the board since his inclusion two weeks prior to this ranking. Michael Clardy, Bronson Faux and Chuck Goody continue to hurt their draft stock will poor showings in the past couple rankings. Biggest news coming this week was our declaration cut-off deadline being announced. Prospects will be allowed to declare for this draft if they want, but they only have a week to do so before all new prospects are officially declared for the Season 44 VHL Entry Draft. This weeks theme is VHLM teams and where these prospects are currently honing their hockey skills. It's no secret these prospects may have come from CHL programs in various locations across Canada and the United States. These VHLM teams give them the ability to adapt to the VHL style of play as well as the business in which it operates. The VHLM has been a part of the Victory Hockey League system for over 40 years and has been in and out of affiliations with VHL parent clubs. So to set the right story on all teams we now present to you a breakdown of this years draft class and their respected VHLM team. Brampton has been a long standing team in the VHLM's history. This year they are loaded with prospects that are on our rankings and thus are available to be drafted in this upcoming entry draft. E'Twaun Delicious makes up a solid forward group combined with Bronson Faux and newcomer Casper Solomon. Golden Jedtsson and Franklin Romanowski form a lethal duo that have looked stellar thus far. Larry Esposito rounds out the prospects that play for this Canadian powerhouse. Ottawa boasts the Lynx in their large city, and they couldn't be happier. The team currently has nine prospects in this draft which is cut above the rest of the VHLM teams. Led by their leaders on the blueline, Pablo Escabar and Francis York Morgan form a formidable duo. Thomas Duddy, Souryuu Kaminogi and Jorma Ruutu headline the forward crop who are very productive on both ends of the ice. Zachary Young and Kewl Runnins are depth players but provide the team a little jump on their checking lines. Recent draft declarer Roland Rengel and his sidekick Holy the Goalie are both adequate goaltenders for the Lynx. This team has some jump but will need an entire roster to grow with each other to be a threat come playoff time. Saskatoon Wild went through a huge overhaul during the off-season which saw many players graduate to the VHL and some shipped out in trades. The result of that off-season brings us a roster largely dependant fourth line veterans and newcomer Ryan Carlson. Carlson is the bulk of the production and attack for this Wild squad. He isn't the only Season 43 draftee on the squad though. Defensemen Dennis Saad is also another prospect that could find his way from a Wild player to a VHL roster. Yukon is like Saskatoon in the way of their off-season being a total overhaul of players and draft selections. When the dust settled though, the Rush featured two prospects for this upcoming draft. Thor Weinstein mans the point while newcomer Doug Glatt takes his place upon the right side of the forward groups. The Rush really didn't have much to work with in the off-season so carrying these two is a blessing in disguise. The Minot Gladiators have three prospects for this years draft on their current roster. The Gladiators see both sides of the rankings with their players. Hans Wingate is arguably the best goaltender in the draft and he also is the main puckstopper in the Minot lineup. Unfortunately the two teammates he shares this draft with are Screw Mark and John Moretta who are both absent from most of the teams functions. Ultimately though Wingate is the prospects carrying the load on this squad in more ways than one. Bratislava has had some success in the last little bit and it goes to show you that good drafting and knowing which players will succeed under your system is the best formula. This years squad however, they look like a shell of their former self. Largely populated by layovers from last years squad, they actually do feature a prospect in this upcoming draft. Stabby McFullO'Schmidt is the one prospect we talk about, however he has done little to even raise fingers from scouts. Turku seems like they want to continue the trend of teams who fell off since their successful seasons in years past. This year the roster only consists of four players outside of their usual fill ins. One of those players is Kawhk Blawka who has not done a thing to raise his draft stock or assist his team is becoming somewhat relevant this campaign. The Royals out in Bern give us the ability to raise our hopes again about teams who possess draft prospects for this upcoming draft. Josh America frontline a solid forward group for the Royals which also consists of Dan Humphrey. MC Hammer and Chuck Goody are a solid pair of blue liners who strengthen this Swiss squad. Moscow was very active in the off-season and it allowed them to become noticeable again by scouts as well as the peers. Grabbing players like Michael Clardy, Erik Hedman and Josiah Parks helps their bid for a playoff spot. Acquiring Jed Mosley, Santi Pineiro and Not Active has done little to help but they still can claim they are from the same draft class as their previously mentioned teammates. Oslo Storm are a heavy favourite in the VHLM this year because of their veteran leadership and ability to put the puck in the net. Their depth also gives them some hope in the back half of games. Theo Matsikas is a bright spot who comes from this draft class and is high on our draft rankings. His Olso teammates Grady Simons and Marlon Duke also claim to be from the same draft but by their lack of progression, you wouldn't know it. There you have it folks! A quick look at where these prospects play and what their inclusion on their roster actually means towards their teams success and activity.
