sterling 1,997
Slaughter Update Having been traded to a new team after six successful seasons with the New York Americans, forward Tom Slaughter wasn't sure what to expect. The American centreman was dealt to the Stockholm Vikings earlier in the year. Thus far Slaughter has been a pivotal member of a team that appears to be headed for the playoffs and a long run into the European Conference. The following is a a brief look into the season so far for Slaughters and the Vikings. The Vikings currently sit in second place in Europe, only behind the Continental Cup Cologne Express. The matches between the teams thus far have been tightly contested and Slaughter doesn't expect that competition to die down for the remainder of the season. The Vikings are currently fighting hard to overtake the Express, something Slaughter also sees within reach. "I think our team is just a good, if not better than any other team in the league. As of now, the race for the top spot in the league is wide open as I see it. We've still got one game left against Cologne which should be another good match. I don't see why this can't go down right to the wire. There are some good teams in North America too, I'm excited for the playoffs yet again," Slaughter said. The Viking veteran is almost sure to be making his sixth straight playoff race. Slaughter was fortunate to help the Americans capture two Continental Cups in those five playoff runs. The Americans were split essentially between Cologne and Stockholm when they decided to rebuild in the off-season. The Vikings received former Americans Jody Three Moons, Slaughter and goalie Brick Wahl while Cologne received the power forward Xiao. Thus far, the three liquidated forwards are amongst the league leaders in points this season with Slaughter showing up prominently as one of the only players in the top ten without one of his line-mates alongside him. So far this season Slaughter 28 goals and 35 assists for 63 points which puts him in third place in league scoring through 43 games of the season. He appears destined to match his career norms (100 points, +50 rating, 65% face-off win rate) which is why the Vikings acquired him in the first place. The forward has shown some more physical style this season with 42 hits and 18 penalty minutes. This may go down as the best season of Tom's career and with it, perhaps there will be whispers of some much deserved personal hardware. One could likely make a good case for Slaughter if his season continues as it has so far. "I don't look too much into personal accolades. I'm eying that battle we'd be in with the other strong teams in Europe with Davos and Cologne. Both these teams are talented and we will have our hands full. I like a depth, our experience and our youth in Stockholm. This guys have improved a lot as the season has gone on and I know Brick is going to finish his career out strong. He's been a rock out there for so many years," Slaughter said. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/20413-slaughter-update-final-66/ Share on other sites

DollarAndADream 3,356
My bad. Taron didn't write that it needed another grade in the title. Didn't even see this. Content: 3/3 - Solid article with the proper length. Slaughter has been a monster.Grammar: 1.75/2 - Definitely some easily correctable mistakes. "is a a brief look" - is a brief look "Slaughters and the Vikings" - Slaughter "Continental Cup Cologne Express." - Continental Cup winners, the Cologne Express "is just a good" - just as good "Jody Three Moons" - Probably just a nit-pick, but it should be 3 Moons because that's how his name is officially spelled.
