JumpierPegasus 52
The (Minor) League Leaders The VHLM has been an extremely interesting race this season, both for #1 in the standings around the league, which has 5 teams battling for that position all fairly close together in terms of points, and for the fight for the top spot in league scoring among players. Currently dominating the top 3 are players most recently drafted in the Season 44 VHL Entry Draft. And it's time to look at who they are, and what they could mean to their VHL teams down the road C, Maxime Perron (Brampton Blades) Currently the leading scorer of the VHLM, Perron has lead his Brampton blades to a 14-4 record, good for a spot just outside of #1 in the VHLM standings. The most notable asset on this young prospect is his shot. One of the quickest releases the VHLM has ever seen he has contributed to 23 goals in 18 games this season, which places him atop the VHLM. His release is so quick many goaltenders have noted that they do not even have time to set up before he releases, and quite often it is so deceptive they realize he is shooting as the puck is going past. He scored 74 points in 72 games last season for a stacked Brampton squad, and was named captain of the team this season and has taken on the leadership role in full force. Perron was selected 7th overall by Helsinki, and since has shown a serious dedication to his game. The Titans are hoping for another Brody Hodgson in the young player, and he is only impressing more and more every night. He is currently on an 8 game scoring streak as of today. RW, Simon Valmount (Bratislava Watchmen) Valmount was one of last season's most exciting prospects, and for good reason. Rave reviews for the young winger started as soon as he stepped foot in the VHLM. He was the talk of every scout, every GM, and every player, as the dark horse of the draft. Someone who might fall to around pick #5, but end up being one of the best players from the draft. And that's almost exactly what happened. Valmount wound up getting selected by Riga at pick #4 in the VHL draft, to absolute insanity from the fans back in Latvia. Now in the VHLM, Valmount on the wing of Davidson has put up an exceptional 38 points in 19 games. An extremely well rounded player, he has put up 19 goals and 19 assists this season, while contributing at both ends of the ice. And that is the thing that separates him from Perron. He has 71 hits, 11 shots blocked, and is a very pesky player with 44 penalty minutes, with 4 of them being fights. While his plus minus is substantially smaller than Perron's (who has +30 to Valmount's +18), he is put on the ice a lot of the time that Bratislava starts in the defensive zone. That is serious value that is very underrated. Valmount is currently the best player who is still in the VHLM. Riga is going to be very excited for this kid's future. C, Alexander Davidson (Bratislava Watchmen) Davidson and Perron will probably be compared together for the rest of their careers. Perron was selected one spot before Davidson, who ended up going to the New York Americans at pick #8. Davidson has shown a lot of skill this season alongside Valmount, noticed for being able to move the puck up the ice well with an absolutely incredible first pass. His playmaking ability is bar none what sets him apart from anyone else currently in the VHLM. And this season, to back that up, he has posted a respectable 14 goals to his 23 assists. Very close in points to his teammate, they are both working extremely hard to catch Perron at the top of that leaderboard. The S44 Draft was seen as a weaker draft for top end talent in recent memory, however one cannot scoff at the fact that there are going to be some excellent prospects coming out of there. Guys who are criminally underrated that will make the VHL interested when they make it to the show. *I would have done 4 including Jefferson Jackson, however he was just called up to the VHL with his team in Quebec. eaglesfan036 and Ahma 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/21947-claimedthe-league-leaders-final-66/ Share on other sites

Lots of races going on and I'm sure the scoring leaders will probably see a few changes as well.
