Star Studded Toronto - An Article Made Out of Boredom

We are a little over the halfway point of Season 47, with teams having played 43-45 games so far. At this point of the season, analysts can get an idea of what to expect come playoff time, with the best teams having pretty much solidified themselves as contenders, and the bottom feeders sitting....well, at the bottom.

Currently in the VHL, we have certain players who are dominating the league offensively, and one of those players in none other than Bismarck Koenig of the Helsinki Titans. Bismarck has been hopping around teams for the past few seasons, and seems to have found his hot spot for production, currently having 9 points up on the next guy, where he has 80 points in 43 games. That is quite an astounding pace for a VHLer in any regard, and one has to question if he can keep it up.

Max Molholt celebrates a key goal

The players in question whom I want to talk about for this article however, are the Toronto Legion's Max Molholt and Zach Parechkin. Molholt has been a dominant force in the VHL since entering the league and the anchor on Toronto's top six, but the great turnout for the Legion is the arrival of Zach Parechkin. These two players have clicked from the get-go, with Parechkin winning the Season 46 Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy for Top Rookie last season, and Max Molholt the season prior. It did not take them long to find chemistry together, and with an offense core like that the Legion aren't far away from contending in the coming seasons, pending they find a goalie of course.

Max Molholt and Zach Parechkin are both currently in the Top 10 in Scoring in the VHL. Max, with 45 games played has 32 goals, 29 assists, with 61 points for 5th overall. He is 3rd in Goals, 9th in Shots with 261, 8th in Shot Percentage with 12.26%, the 2nd best Right Winger in the league behind Lloyd Light, and 6th in Points per 20 MInutes with 0.93. I'm not sure how many expect Toronto to have such a stud on offense, but he brings everything to the table that any team will need to win a cup.

Zach Parechkin carries the puck down the ice

-----------------------------------

As far as Zach Parechkin goes, he's 9th in VHL Scoring right now in only his 2nd season, with 26 goals and 31 assists, for 57 points. Parechkin is 8th in Goals with 26, not too far behind Max Molholt, 6th in Shots with 277, more than Molholt, and is the 3rd best Left Winger in the VHL. He has 0.90 Points per 20 Minutes, and unlike his teammate Max, he is in the Top 10 in Hits, sitting at 2nd place with 207. Only Simon Valmount has more than him with 257, who is killing the league himself. Zach is making a name for himself as one of the premier two-way forwards in the VHL with all that offense as well as hits, and it's very early in his career.

Not only are these two Legion forwards doing it all out there, but newcomer LeAndre St. Pierre is leading all rookies with 23 goals and 20 assists, giving him 43 points.

The wonder around the league is what the future will hold for the Toronto Legion, as there are still key pieces missing from their roster to make them a true contender, as they are still a ways away from that, but they are close.
