After losing the VHLM finals as a waiver player for the Ottawa Lynx, Pietro Maximoff finds himself on the team that had beaten him last year, the Bratislava Watchmen. After eight games in the regular season Maximoff has gotten himself seven goals and seven assists, leading his new team in scoring. Things are looking well for the young player, but he stays with both feet on the ground.

“I’m not progressing as fast as people might have thought I would, but things are going good so far. I am not in a rush for the VHL and time will tell if I can make an impact there. When you look at players like Thomas O’Malley you see their hockey sense immediately, but I haven’t had the facilities in my youth to reach their level. I hope to one day be a solid contributor to a VHL team, but people should not expect miracles of me. It will be interesting to see where I will end up next season, but people that touted me as a #1 overall should definitely re-consider their options. I am no superstar, so I think someone like Bobby Digital should take that spot”
