Senior Admin Will 4,660 Posted March 27, 2016 Senior Admin Share Posted March 27, 2016 If you happened to visit the during a certain few minute period earlier today, you may have encountered a message telling you there was maintenance in progress. This was the result of a new patch being installed that adds a few new things and fixes some areas that need fixing. Perhaps the most significant is about something that was touched on by @Kendrick in his topic about updating - the annoying auto-embedding of direct post links when you paste them in. The patch added a way to easily un-embed any link, whether it be an external link or an link within the forum. Here is a screenshot that I have thriftily stolen from IPB (see the back to a link message): Here is a full list of external websites that support such embedding: College Humor, Facebook, Flickr, Gfycat, Google+, Hulu, Instagram, SoundCloud, Spotify, Ted, Twitter, Vimeo, Vine, YouTube, and internal links to content within the community. This patch also added options to easy edit streams of content to suit your tastes - you can check this out by clicking on the View New Content button and seeing the different filters. I'm not sure if anyone uses custom streams other than the default new content one, but if you're interested you can easily create your own here. It allows you to specify specific forums you want to see, etc. On another note, those of you who frequent the VHL on mobile devices may have noticed issues with certain skins not displaying correctly. This is caused by the ad at the bottom of the page not dynamically adjusting to different resolutions. I think we've found a fix for this and hopefully all of the mobile skins will be displaying properly within the next couple of days.
