Marcel Faux's Career

Marcel Faux’s career began in S43 when he was drafted 11th overall by the Saskatoon Wild. He played for the struggling Wild club for half the season before being traded to the stacked Bern Royals. Faux and the Bern Royals ended up winning the Founders Cup in S43.

Faux’s performance got him drafted3rd overall by the Helsinki Titans. He was sent back to the Bern Royals on the VHLM immediately as he was not ready for VHL duties. Faux was then traded to the Saskatoon Wild after his agent was named the General Manager of the team. The Wild were the power house of the VHLM and Faux put up amazing numbers. In Season 44 Faux put up 68 goals and 71 assists for 139 points. In this season he won the Alexander Chershenko which is for leading the VHLM in goals. He also won the Ethan Osborne Trophy which is for VHLM point leader and finally he won the Mitch Higgins Trophy which is given to the VHLM Most valuable player. Along with these individual awards the Saskatoon Wild won the Founders Cup making Faux 2 for 2 in the VHLM for Championships.

In Season 45 Marcel Faux made his VHL debut with the Helsinki Titans. He put up 64 points which was fairly decent for a rookie on a very good team. This Helsinki Titans team ended up going all the way and winning the Continental Cup.

In Season 46 Faux’s production dropped slightly to 61 points but hit 30 goals which is a great feat. This season the Helsinki Titans also ended up going all the way and won the Continental cup again. In this season he made his debut for Team Canada at the World Cup.

In Season 47 Marcel and the Titans had a bit of a down year considering where they were in the years prior. Marcel finished with 59 points. A forgettable season for Marcel Faux.

In Season 48 Marcel Faux wanted to bounce back from the disappointment of Season 47. He did that in a big way. He almost doubled his point production to 106 points. He was third in league scoring. He ended up winning the Dustin Funk Trophy which is for the most improved player. Faux definitely deserved this award as his breakout was pretty amazing. The Helsinki Titans made it to the Finals but ended up falling to the powerhouse Toronto Legion. This season he also made another appearance for Team Canada at the World Cup. Canada is a bit in a rebuilding phase but that did not stop them. Faux put up 16 points for the Canadians and helped them get a Bronze Medal at the tournament.

Season 49 has been a pretty terrible one so far for Marcel. The Helsinki Titans blew up their team and Faux is one of the only players left. He has 5 points in 4 games with 4 of those points being goals. Faux wants more ice time but the team is not giving it to him at this point. It also appears Faux will be on his way out at some point this season as the Titans rebuild. It should be interesting to see where he ends up if he can go to a contender and possibly win another cup. Faux likely does not have much time left in his career so it would be good for him to get another chance at a cup to add to his already full trophy case.
