Team Canada got a bronze medal last year, but they wanted more. The team is in great position currently, with only 2 players who will be gone next World Cup, but still another medal to add to their collection would be nice. Can the young guns help lift the team to gold? This is the squad that @Higgins put together:

FORWARDS

Zach Parechkin - @DollarAndADream - Oh Captain my Captain! Parechkin had a down year this year, but is still entrenched as one of the best two way players in the game. If he can find the magic he had from a year ago, and continue his great leadership, he should be a potent part of the first line

Unassisted - @STZ - The VHLs leading scorer is one of the top snipers in the game. Unassisted was already one of the best, but after this campaign he could be THE best. He will be taking his sniping talents to the top line of Team Canada to make a push for a medal

Tom Lincoln - @brovy - another player from Quebec, Lincoln led the league in scoring for most of the year until his fellow teammate overtook him. He's a scoring machine, who can capitalize by shooting the puck or passing it. Him and Unsassisted will look to score in bunches on the top line while Parechkin keeps opposing defenders off.

Vincent Virtanen - @Lunaro -  the reigning pussy award winner, Virtanen actually posted 23 hits, almost 5 times what he got last year. He's a pass first guy, but he's not afraid to put the puck in the net. He will be hoping to make a big impact on the second line.

Bronson Faux - @Jamie - Bronson Faux will feel a little out of place without his brother next to him, but he plans to make a big impact in his final season, literally. The physical center is a force on the ice, and old age won't stop him from laying the body down. Faux will lead the second line, hopefully to big things.

John Sleeman - @Frank - Sleeman made the transition from defense to forward this season, and boy did he make it well. He jumped to be a points per game player, and finished third in hits, another player who isn't afraid to get physical. Sleeman will play on the second line, making what should be a tough duo in Hin and Faux.

DEFENSEMEN

Black Velvet - @Higgins - Velvet has long been considered the future of Team Canada, but now the future is becoming the present. Velvet was third in scoring among defensemen, and after Wingate leaves this year he could become the face of the Toronto Legion. Velvet will be the top defensemen on the team.

Jim Lahey - @Cuffy - Lahey showed Calgary fans why he was so valuable as a rookie, leading the team in blocked shots and finishing second in hits. He still has a long way to go, but his development is promising for the Wranglers. He will play out the World Cup next to Velvet on the top pairing.

Ted Doughty - @Jala - Doughty has improved greatly on his offensive game, but seemingly at the cost of his defense. The former highly touted prospect has certainly taken a few steps forward, but doesn't seem to be as committed as before. Team Canada is hoping that a spot on the second pairing will change that.

Bubba Nuck - @NUCK - Nuck looked really good this year, which was good for the team that traded for him. He continued to put up big assist totals, and once again got 100+ blocks and hits. That impressive play earned him a spot on the second pairing, and the fans are hoping his planmaking will be a big factor.

GOALIES

Atticus Von Braxton IV - @Advantage - AVBIV had a down year in S50, but a lot of that can be attributed to being on a poor Stockholm team. The only starting goalie not from Europe or World, Braxton will be a key piece in separating Team Canada from the rest of the field. He should get just about all the starts for his squad

Rhett DeGrath - @STZ - the second player from the STZ agency to play for Team Canada, DeGrath will be the second youngest player in the World Cup, giving his country a glimpse of what's to come. For now, he will just ride the bench, but soon he could be a major factor in Canada's hockey program.
