sterling 2,000
The Prodigal Son Returns Defenseman Jeff Hamilton has had what some would call a nomadic VHL career. He was originally drafted in Season 46 to the Seattle Bears by General Manager Mike Szatkowski. Hamilton was originally not keen on joining the Bears for several reasons, but primarily the team was marred in a recent run of bad management and lack of success after former General Manager Bushito drove the team into the ground. Hamilton reluctantly agreed to join the Bears and unfortunately the defenseman didn't find a great deal of success. During Hamilton's third season in Seattle they hired a new General Manager who promised success, but it didn't materialize at the time. "I felt bad at the time to leave the team as they were on the upswing, but I didn't have much of a choice. I gave the Bears a lot of my career and we just couldn't find a winning team. I left Seattle on good terms as Banacock promised to trade me if the team wasn't winning. They weren't and I moved to Quebec midway through the year. I always had a desire to end my career where it started as the Bears always had potential," Hamilton said. Hamilton has arguably had more success than the Bears have since departing Seattle. He won a Continental Cup with the Riga Reign in Season 51 and a Labatte with Quebec over his one and a half seasons there. Meanwhile, the Bears haven't found the success they've been aiming for since trading Hamilton despite a flurry of high profile trades and signings in recent years. The Bears are desperate to break through a tough North American Conference that was dominated by the Toronto Legion for so many years. Last season, the Bears anticipated a long Cup run only to be cut short by an upstart New York Americans team. "I've been watching the Bears since I was traded and had a few opportunities to go back there. Last season was probably the closest I came to returning to Seattle but they couldn't fit both Phil and I on the roster so we settled for the Legion. I'd love to cap my career off with another Cup back in Seattle where I feel like I deserve to give the franchise something that drafted me second overall all those years ago. I feel really good about the team this season - it wasn't much of a hard choice to sign with the Bears," Hamilton said. Perhaps Hamilton and the Bear's reunion is a perfect one for the time. A modern day hockey biblical themed story about the son who left home for richer pursuits only to find trials and tribulations along the way. Meanwhile, home remained stable during his time away plotting ways to return to former glory. Hamilton, likewise has always only wanted to win. Their goal being the same, a reunion made a lot of sense with th Bears' roster losses. "I hope I can go out retiring a Cup winner with the Seattle Bears. I think we have the team to beat this year," Hamilton said.
