Kyle 667 Posted August 10, 2017 Share Posted August 10, 2017 Volkov Cuts Off Contract Talks With Calgary Word out of Calgary today is that Wranglers defenseman Luca Volkov's agency has officially cut off contract talks with the Wranglers and will wait to open them up again once the season has ended. Allegedly the reason is that Volkov solely wants to focus on his rookie season as opposed to being asked where negotiations are day in and day out. Luca is signed through the end of this season and is then able to hit free agency when the window opens. But as of now it seems as though he has no interest in hitting the open market. However, with Calgary striking out in their attempt to finally exit their rebuild there's rumors his mind could change by the time that Season 56 wraps up. With the season kicking off today and Volkov struggling in both games, he will need a lot more production if he expects to get a contract offer at all.
