Senior Admin Will 4,660 Posted April 7, 2018 Senior Admin Share Posted April 7, 2018 Welcome to all the new members! I just wanted to give you all a heads up on how you will get onto teams: Since you've joined just as our current season is coming to an end, you guys will all be entered into the next Minors draft which should take place early next week (I'd say Wednesday at the latest) and you'll be drafted to VHLM teams, where you will play for the next season. Our off-seasons are fairly quick, only about 7-10 days, but just so you're not waiting around for a week+ to get some sim action, I think we're going to organize a little VHLM tournament to run during the off-season that you guys will all play in. Next off-season, once you've had a season to earn points and upgrade your players, you'll be in the S61 VHL Entry Draft where you'll be drafted to a pro team. So you'll have a little bit of wait to the draft, but you can definitely get started earning points for your players before then. This topic should give you the basics and some links to earning points, but a great way to get started would be opening up a Press Conference so people can get to know you or doing a Biography to give your player some backstory. MaikTheRed 7
I swear I read everything but there are some things that I don't understand clearly. The last time I was part of this kind of things players needed to be active in the forums, so VHL seems a little different. 1-Do we need to change the activity week by week? Like if I do a Press Conf. this week I can make another one next week or need to do another activity? 2-Do we get the same amount of points or some activities give more points? 3-How I add the new points to my player? 4-When usually players retire? 5-What happens when my player retires? I think that's all for now. I swear I read a lot of posts but I couldn't hold all the information in my head. Banackock 8,062
1. Media spots, pod casts, graphics and. VHL.com's are all weekly tasks you can do to earn your capped limit TPE. The cap for the week is 12 by the way. You pick either graphic (6), media (6) or Welfare for your mains. Then you can do a press conference and VHL.com once a week. These do not include jobs like financier, updaters etc. 2. Kind of explained above. Media Spot - 500 to 2,000+ words. Every 500 words is good for one week. If it's 500, you don't have to write until next week and can claim 6 TPE. If it's say, a 1,500 word article - you can claim it ONCE a week for a total of 3 weeks. Graphic - once a week/6 TPE Welfare - if you're busy or just lazy - it's def way less than the other 2. Magazine = 7 TPE I believe. Writing articles for the VHL magazine etc WEEKLY. VHL.com - WEEKLY - 150 word blabber about the league, your player or whatever. I believe it's 2 TPE now. Press conf - WEEKLY - ask 5 and answer 5 and you get 2 TPE. and there's some other shit like rookie report and Bio that you can only do ONCE in your CAREER and they earn you 8 and 10 TPE. 3. Earn points by doing up above stuff WEEKLY or whatever.. and then once you do them, update your player in your players update thread (you'll have to make this). Apply the points VIA the update scale in the "create a player" thread. 4. Auto retire after 8 seasons. It tends to be enough and you will be excited to create a new player by that time - trust me. However, I'm on the BoG and am fighting to up them limits to 10 seasons. Doubt it'll happen - especially with the newly introduced salary cap brackets etc. 5. You can fly off into the abyss or create a new player. If he's good, he goes into the hall of fame and will forever be remembered. This is my like 4th or 5th player but I'm also a GM so i tend to retire my guys early to help out my teams needs MaikTheRed 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/48275-new-members/#findComment-514076 Share on other sites
Banackock 8,062
@MaikTheRed there's also a player store where you can buy shit and Team Training Camps in the off-season. The VHLM offers a seasonal achievement tracker where you can earn up to 20 TPE as well! Seems overwhelming but give it a shot and you'll find it's not Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/48275-new-members/#findComment-514077 Share on other sites
