Nguyen Falls in VHLM Draft

Saskatoon - After an exciting VHL draft that saw our guy Dylan Nguyen go in the 1st round (7th Overall), everyone here at the Saskatoon Tribune was ecstatic. However, just days after in the VHLM draft the very same player slipped to the 3rd round (13th Overall). In what can only be described as a tragedy, one of the top prospects slipped through so many fingers, the only consolation was that Saskatoon was able to retain his services as well as keep Ryuu Crimson on the team.

 

We caught up with Dylan Nguyen to get his feelings on the VHLM draft: “Well you know it was a very weird experience, seeing my name on the board for so long and not getting called. Im kinda pissed, I mean multiple teams passed on me twice. I'm better than a 3rd round pick and everyone knows it. Oh well though cause you know what, I’m back in Saskatoon baby! Not only that but we got Ryuu back too! The dynamic duo lives on! Plus the roster is reloaded with talent and were ready to make some noise this season! From a management standpoint this Draft went well, from a personal one it was pretty bad. But I’m ready to put it all behind me and tear up the VHLM this season.

You wouldn't know this yet, but when a VHLM GM's player is in the VHLM draft, the other teams tend to pass on the player so the GM himself can get him (unless he's expressed interest in going elsewhere and not having his own guy). Now given that most of the others are new also, I don't necessarily know that the rest of them did this intentionally, but I know I did and I suspect it was true of the Laflamme/Banackock tandem in Oslo (although they had no picks in that range anyway).

Ya what @diamond_ace said part of the reason i kinda just let your player slip was because i knew we could get him abit later. Well snagging a guy like Toast in the process.

I figured that was what happened, but I'm just writing from the players prospective not my own. But I am thankful for you letting me get my own player!

Honestly though my player was going first round, but a bunch of guys asked if I wanted to take him and he feel right into my lap at 12th
