Riga Leading The League

Is it that much of a shock? Maybe if your a member of the Seattle Bears, who just made a trade to acquire Komarov from Quebec. Seattle only sits two points the defending Continental Cup Champion Riga Reign presently in the standings. But Riga doing so well shouldn't come as much of a shock. Despite the fact that the team lost Jeff Gow and Jack Shepard, everyone knew names like Podrick Cast, Edwin Preencarnacion and Leph Twinger would still be studs. Riga also still had the depth, as last season they had several names playing in the VHLM and even had more than they needed in terms of on team rosters. They had players ready to step in and fill in the holes that were caused by the losses, all while improving. An argument could be made by the time playoffs roll around that this Riga may even be better than last seasons.

Which brings us to the ultimate question. Are Riga the favorites, and able to push this thing forward and get the repeat? It's an interesting question, there have been a handful of repeats in the VHL and only one threepeat. Obviously still a whole season and a repeat away from threepeat conversation, but if Riga can get it done this season they don't lose much again next season. @hedgehog337 could absolutely be GM'ing a present day dynasty right before our eyes. We'll just have to wait and see how things unfold.
