ECN on VHL Portal #5 "WJC Gold"

This post will feature factors that our Chief Editor FrostBeard believes will prove to be instrumental for either Europe or Canada at winning WJC. As always guys - I hope you will enjoy this post and for the future reference - if you have any ideas on how to improve ECN format - be sure to throw a message.

Now let's get on with it!

Two amazing teams have been decided to go and fight for the gold medals in WJC - Those are Canada (GM Bushito) and Europe (GM TsarPeter). Each team is having its own special style of play - Canada is a true offensive superpower - just looking at their lineup you can clearly understand that any of their lines can be lethal to anyone, Europe, on the other hand, is a defensive juggernaut who can limit you easily to 2 goals a game which can be instrumental in determining who is gonna win. Both teams are super competitive and we can surely say that both have same chances to win the tournament.

But...

The one factor that I believe could prove to be most important is the goaltending. For one - you have the superb stats of JB Rift, who has been amazing at helping Europe get so far - with 0.940 Save percentage in Round Robin and now with 0.946 in Medal round he has put himself into a position as the most consistent and the best goalie this WJC by a landslide. On the other hand, you have Wendy Candee Cain - Canada's Nr1 goalie this WJC - With 0.914 in the Round Robin and  0.907 Save percentage in Medal round Wendy is showing that their outstanding offence has someone to rely on. 

So in the end, it is just a question of - will JB Rift be able to sustain his amazing statistics or will he be pushed down by the great Offence of Canada?
