Shawn Glade Jr

Age: 18

Height: 6'1
Weight: 180

Hometown: Anchorage, Alaska

Shawn Glade Jr grew up around the VHL, with his father, Shawn Glade, spending his 7 seasons in the league with Riga, Vancouver, and Davos. While his father was overseas in his first stint with the Davos Dynamo, Glade Jr also left home to join the USNTDP much like his father did as a teen. In his two seasons in Ann Arbor, he was the highest scoring defenseman on the team, whilst playing against men nearly 8 years older than himself. Both seasons with the team he competed on Team USA at World Juniors, however never made it to the semi-finals, coming up short both years. After his two seasons with the program, Glade Jr decided to take his talents to the WHLs Portland Winterhawks, the team he grew up cheering for. Shawn also spent two seasons in Portland, and in his second year he was named alternate captain and was again the team's leading defenseman point-wise. Both seasons the Winterhawks made the playoffs, the first season getting bounced in the second round. However, his second season saw Portland hosting the memorial cup, which meant they were guaranteed a spot in the tournament and the pressure to win the WHL was off. Despite this, Portland finished atop the WHL thanks in part to the play of 18 year old Shawn Glade Jr. The Winterhawks lost in the Western Conference finals to the eventual WHL champions, the Prince Albert Raiders in 6 games. Frustrated with their exit from the playoffs, Portland looked forward to the upcoming memorial cup as a second shot at victory. Heading into the tournament, they were underdogs against the other top tier teams in the tournament, such as the Prince Albert Raiders (WHL), Guelph Storm (OHL), and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (QMJHL). Through round-robin play, Glade Jr showed off what he can do on a national stage. Through their first three games, the Winterhawks went 2-1 and Glade Jr recorded 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in 3 games, which tied the lead for points. The semi-final matchup saw the Winterhawks match up against their old WHL foe, the Prince Albert Raiders. This time however, Portland got the better of their rival, beating the Raiders 4-1, with Glade Jr contributing 2 goals, including the eventual game winner. The final was set as the Portland Winterhawks would square off against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies for the Memorial Cup. Yet, hope was dashed when the cinderella story run came to an abrupt end in Double OT, as the Huskies scored from the top of the circle to win the cup. This marked the end of Glade Jr's major junior career, as he decided to forgo the NHL draft and follow his father's footsteps, and declare for the VHL draft. We're about a year out from his VHL draft, so in the meantime he'll sign with a VHLM team and rise his draft stock in the next season to hopefully be noticed by scouts from the big league and make his way onto a VHL roster.

Review:

I feel like this was kind of rushed. I feel like there could've been a few more graphics. Another thing I think you could've done was spreading apart your paragraph a little bit. Keep up the good work! I'm excited to see what your player does in the simulation.
