Riga, Latvia - Just three seasons in, Riga defenseman Apollo Hackett already feels the arthritis setting into his bones.

"It's weird. I feel like I just got into this league, and I'm already one of the older players. I feel like I have a routine already - and familiar things are nice. God does that sound like an old man thing to say," he commented in one recent off-season presser. "But the league is constantly changing, and part of that means I'll have to step up into a leadership position on Riga next season. McWolf, I know you said you want to move on; as far as I'm concerned, though, you've got a spot on Riga as long as you're still playing hockey."

"In the meantime, we're going to keep pushing for a Continental Cup win. This free agent class is supposed to be pretty big, and top teams are making (mostly) tiny optimizations. Others teams I'm not so sure about. The folks at Davos for example have been pretty open about how different the team could look next season, so the landscape could look very different next season. I'm also interested to see how these expansion teams evolve over the next few seasons. I might be out of the league before they become successful, but you never know. Malmo moved up pretty quickly."
