STZ 5,360
Jared Spaz was a mid-season free agent signing by @Josh and the Yukon Rush. He joined the team about a third into the season as an underdeveloped player, but earned his way onto the top line. The Rush was able to sneak into playoffs, and Spaz has built his name as one of the fastest developing player in the draft. He has great stick handling skills with a top-end shot. He could come into the VHL and still put the puck into the net, however the big question is whether he could keep up with the pace of play. Simply put, he's just not ready. He has very low skating and needs to work on that if he wants to be successful in the VHLM let alone the VHL. He will re-enter the VHLM in their draft as well as the VHL. He will likely be in similar draft spots in both drafts, which we expect to be late first round. He might actually have a better shot at going higher in the VHL, considering the talent pool in S71 entering the VHLM Draft. This is a long-term prospect who needs a lot of work. We like this player, but it is very much the case where buyer beware - expect this player to be selected by a team that has had many discussions with him and are comfortable with him as a character person and not just for his on-ice production. @Spaz Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl Jacques Lafontaine Iangenere Risteneen Shawn Glade Jr. Chad Magnum Lewis Dawson Cxsquared and Spaz 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/74973-s70-prospect-card-jared-spaz/ Share on other sites
