HenrikZoiderberg 469
The Nicest Season Season sixty-nine. The nicest season. One better than sixty-eight, yet somehow also oen better than seventy. The toast of men around the world. Thumbs up and nices from any one person who hears its chorus chime through their eardrums. It's divine, sixty-nine. Today I'll tell you the tale of two rivals teams, their differing starts, and their all but expected outcomes leading into the end of the nicest season in VHL history. It was early in the season and spirits were high. The Seattle Bears were fresh off of their recent continental cup win. @Banackock was in the midst of a hangover of champaigne and cocaine, and Captain @Acydburn was attempting to bring the troops back together after a raucous offseason. The boys had swim in fountains, they'd run the cup around the entire Seattle downtown core, and Key Arena was covered in some very abstract graffiti. Everyone had eaten several corn dogs, and several of the forwards had not worn a shirt in weeks. It was dicks out ferda boys. By the team the season rolled around, the skaters were portly, out of shape, with poor cardiovascular health and vigor. And it showed. The season started poorly, and it took nothing short of a miracle from The Bears' strength and conditioning coach for the team to drag themselves into a playoff spot. North in Vancouver, The Bears were in disarray. The'yd once again failed to so much as make it for the finals, and many players were looking for trades to an actual contenders. Another first-round exit would likely decimate the team. @Motzaburger secretly reached out to representatives of other teams to voice his concerns in his team's leadership, as the losses were continuing to pile up. They needed to have a really nice season if they were going to stick together and have a shot at the cup. And it happened. Sixty-nine games into the season, things were looking up for The Wolves. They'd won two in a row and were looking to be a lock for the regular season championship. If regular season success was a predictor of playoff success, this was going to be an extremely nice Continental Cup playoffs. The Wolves couldn't wait for what was owed to them as regular season champions. The Wolves bowled through the first round of the playoffs before they came up against their old regional rivals and overall better and more handsome team, The Seattle Bears. Given their status as regular season champions, The Wolves were confident that they'd be able to win another round without much of a challenge and decided to step to The Bears. The Bears, of course, made quick work of that expectation as they broke made their way towards their second Continental Cup finals in a row. It was destined that they have a second, because after all, it takes two to sixty-nine. We'll see you next year Vancouver. Maybe. Depends on if you can carry this momentum through another season. 500 Words TPE for week ending January 5 Motzaburger 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/75227-the-nicest-season/ Share on other sites
