S70 Helsinki Titans Captaincy Reveal

Over the last few days the Helsinki Titans held a vote to name their season 70 captain and assistants. The club’s core has mostly remained intact aside from the departures of career Titan Jesse Wilson, 2^nd line center Aston Martin and depth winger Nethila Dissanayake. The voting closed Wednesday evening resulting in forward Julian Borwinn retaining his captaincy along with three assistant captains; Alexander Pepper @Sonnet, Guillaume Fontenette @okochastar and Ben Hafkey @McLovin.

 

Borwinn enters season 70 as his last and remains one of the league elite. Julian hopes to win his third Mike Szatkowski trophy (VHL points leader) and surpass the 90 point mark for a 4^th time to reach 700 career points; all with the Titans. Alexander Pepper, another career Titan, needs 28 wins to reach 300 career regular season victories. He has been a pillar of consistency for Helsinki boasting an incredible record of 272-140-35 with 29 shutouts, a 2.58 GAA and 0.918 S%. Guillaume Fontenette burst into the scene in season 69 leading the league in blocked shots while earning a career best 13 goals and 53 assists for 66 points. Fontenette looks to improve on these numbers as he becomes the Titans #1 dman. Ben Haflkey rounds out the assistants and has been a force for the Titans on and off the ice. He enters the season as the Titans #2 centerman which should easily see him excel far and above his career numbers. The Titans roster appears to be set to start the season and expect to be a force night in and night out.
