Devise 4,475
You sir are getting quite good at these video productions. Do you actually plan on making a proper VHL movie just with edited together pieces and text to tell some of the stories? Guest
You sir are getting quite good at these video productions. Do you actually plan on making a proper VHL movie just with edited together pieces and text to tell some of the stories? Thank you, this one was the hardest to make with the mini scrip cut scenes. It's possible, in regards to the movie thing. The only issue is the 500mb that can be uploaded at a time on Vimeo and the fact the upload time takes hella long haha. This clip was 1 minute and 6 seconds and it took about an hour and 10 minutes to upload. I was planning on making a short film possibly (5-7 minutes). Commissioner Beketov 9,103 Posted May 29, 2014 Commissioner Share Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) I'd be totally up for helping you do a short film for the VHL. Problem is we'd need people to actually film things which makes it hard. Trailers are one thing, you can rip NHL videos for that, but an actual VHL short film is different. Would be cool to make like a short doc with interviews and stuff though. Oh, also, if you wanna get rid of the 500mb limit you need to upgrade to a higher account. The mid level one gives you (I think) 2gb and the high end one gives you unlimited as long as you don't go over 20gb a week. I regularly upload 6-7gb files to the studio vimeo account. solas 1,952
Effort: 1/1 Look: 3/3 - Nice, consistent look with fonts, colors, and clips. Quality: 2/2 - The quality of the video, music, and effects is all consistent and solid. Well done. I have 3 accounts thought for different sim leagues. So its a challenge getting it all figured out on which one I want. Would require a lot of content though. P.S I enjoy how I did casting but a director / writer did editing you've clearly never seen how massively confused most directors are with editing programs haha Edited May 29, 2014 by Beketov Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/8543-claimedvhl-movie-trailer/#findComment-78780 Share on other sites

With the latest efforts from Kendrick proving the quality is getting up there, and with assistance from someone like yourself I think trying to get some funding, or asking Sterling to chip in with some of the league funding already garnered to get this up and running would be great. Could even cross upload the videos on Youtube. They would be a great recruitment/advertising help as well. Not even just doing full on recruitment videos. But if several videos were to come out every season recapping top storylines, top players, playoff series, league rivalries/cup winners. Then of course the more creative and out of the box ideas like the VHL Movie here. Getting an official VHL Vimeo and Youtube account properly running to host said videos would be a grand idea. Could even use it for live video podcasting if anyone was up to give that a try, more of a Sportscenter approach. Unfortunately I'm quite miserable on camera. Would be up for cutting that kinda thing though. The problem becomes the logistics. To get footage for stuff like that would involve people sending video files to other members. None of these would match quality wise (being from different cameras) and moving that much footage is challenging at best. I do like the idea though if we can get the ball rolling. Like I said, a short doc (5-10 minute kinda thing) could actually be rather interesting. A series of them even. 4 episodes or so. 1 explaining the history of sim leagues, 1 explaining the history of the VHL, 1 talking to members and getting the general opinion on things, and the last one looking forward. Could be rather interesting and pretty easy to cut. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/8543-claimedvhl-movie-trailer/#findComment-78804 Share on other sites
