Positions Held: VHL Commissioner, VHLM Commissioner, VHL Recruitment Team Leader, VHL General Manager, VHLM General Manager

When I think of Beaviss, it’s crazy to realize that he’s been here for nearly 4 years now. When I came back to the VHL at the tail end of Season 55, he was just another first-gen member who seemed to really enjoy the league. In fact, the first notable memory of Beav that I have is him winning a copy of NHL 18 in a league giveaway for its 10th Anniversary in July, 2017. It wasn’t long after receiving that copy of NHL that he was offering to do a live sim and stream it, which was the first major indication that he was, and remains, extremely invested in the prosperity of the VHL.

With his first foray into the VHL coinciding with an extremely dark time for the league, Keaton Louth was a beacon of hope, offering his time/help in any way he could, and being thrust into roles that, at one time could not be given away, yet nowadays are extremely sought after and difficult to get. In his first full season in the league, S56, he took over as GM of the VHLM’s Ottawa Lynx, a job he’d hold onto through S58, and promptly won the Jack Reilly Trophy as the league’s top GM twice, in S56 and 58, as well as a Founder’s Cup in S58, as VHLM League Champs.

On October 3rd, 2017, mere months after joining the league and still not yet drafted to the VHL, Beaviss was named as successor to a departing Corco, as VHLM Commissioner with Frank. With Frank shortly stepping away from the league, Beaviss would become the sole VHLM Commissioner, as well as the GM of the Quebec Meute during S58, a role that he has held onto since, overseeing a relocation to Vancouver as well a pair of Victory Cups and Continental Cups.

In his time as VHLM Commish, Beav implemented many changes to better the league. Perhaps the most telling of what was to come in his VHL tenure, was seeing the VHLM’s first expansion franchise since contraction to a mere 5 teams, with the addition of the Halifax 21st, his final parting gift to the league, as he would step down from the VHLM Commissioner’s chair following the S61 season.

Beav’s leaving the VHLM Office was not to take a step back from the league, however, as it was a move to his biggest contribution to the league, when he took over as the VHL’s Recruitment Team leader. Sourcing out new avenues and methods of recruitment, Beaviss lead the charge on revitalising a once dying league, starting with the Season 62 Draft that saw legitimate players being drafted not only in the 2nd round, but into the 3rd as well, for the first time in what felt like eons. That was only the beginning of the exponential growth the league has seen since Beaviss began his recruiting efforts, as the league quickly required expansion in both leagues, growing to 9 teams in the VHL by Season 65, and returning to a 10-team league the following season. Two seasons later the VHL expanded beyond 10 teams for the first time in its existence, adding the 11th and 12th franchises in S68, before an unprecedented, and frankly incomprehensible 4-team expansion in S73, all considered a rousing success! Beaviss started a movement that has seen the league filling up faster than anyone from the Old Guard ever thought possible, and not only carried it out of its darkest period ever, but into its brightest.

For all his hard work as Recruitment lead, Beaviss was named a co-Commissioner of the VHL in October 2019. While his efforts to bring people into the league are vast, his willingness to help anyone who asks remains one of his greatest attributes, as he continues to devote his time and energy to helping make the league what it is today.

For everything in this article, and more, this induction has been a long time coming and is well deserved!

Aren't you supposed to wait like 10-15 seasons after they've been inducted to write these things?????

Only if they're blood relations 😂
