Logging into the VHL and seeing that someone bid 75 Canadian monopoly money for your Media Spot is a terrifying thought. Here is what flashed through my mind when I saw the mind-blowing bid from @DoktorFunk. How do I possibly write something worthy of a $75 investment? Sure it's fake money but that's still 44 pounds which is like... 9 to 10 pints. That's a hefty price to pay for a writer some critics consider 'past his prime'. What could DoktorFunk possibly have in mind? Would he like a piece on doctors (not my specialty) or Rayz Funk? Or worse yet, Scott Greene? Actually, I'm quite excited by this as to put it lightly the creative juices haven't been flowed too actively recently. Definitely milking this to 2,000 words and a 4-week claim. What if someone bids even more? After going through the emotional rollercoaster above, could I survive the guessing game again? How far can this go? 20 pints? 50? 100?? What if I last minute offer the highest bid myself? For charity... for Christmas.
