  1. Cologne is interested if Maximoff wants a big fat paycheck before he rides off into the sunset
  2. How about I give you two weeks off
  3. Lol 70% of the expansion draft draft picks were future considerations and/or draft picks. Maybe we should do a contraction draft!
  4. Holy fuck save some magic for Vegas @YEAH!stlemania
  5. I gave him the next two Mondays off
  6. Frolunda, the original inspiration of Scott Anderson
  7. Yeah, I meant Chris Julien. Was a pretty cool guy for what I remember, just had the shittiest grammar skills ever.
  8. Never mind Vasteras IK, I missed the days of the Helsinki Frostbite, the Amstel Tijgers, the Stockholm Rams with that black guy who liked Thierry Henry (Alec Miller?), the Stockholm Thunder, and the Avangard Havoc (who were in Omsk, if I remember correctly?).
  9. Most important thing about the steroid ban is you stuck it out for 50+ seasons instead of we losing a member.

    NYA GM

Would be nice to get this sorted out soon, especially before the draft, so no one gets fucked over by the new GM possibly having to retire his S56 player to make a GM player.
  11. WTF is with @YEAH!stlemania splitting time with @Strtlght in the playoffs?
  12. Thanks for the fifth overall draft pick New York. Sincerely, Cologne.
  13. Rudi Ying pulls on the Riga Reign jersey after being drafted fourth overall last season. Having been drafted fourth overall last year, Rudi Ying has some big shoes to fill as he gets ready for his rookie season. The most recent fourth overall picks prior to the Chinese phenom were a pair of defensemen in Roman Sokolov and Aleksei Federov. Both players have already made a name for themselves in the VHL, and Ying will look to join the duo as he establishes himself as part of a young Riga Reign team. Looking further back, there are such names like Sir William Covington III, Christian Stolzschweiger, Alexander Beketov, Tukka Reikkinen, Anton Brekker, and R.J. Stafford just to name a few of the players that have been previously drafted fourth overall. These are some elite forwards that have graced the VHL in years past, and most have made their way into the holy shrines of the Hall of Fame. The number of Continental Cups that these players have combined for are enough to fill anyone's trophy cabinet. The combined number of goals and points that these forwards have recorded are astronomical. The young centre from China is hopeful that a few generations later, people will include Ying in the conversation, both as one of the best ever fourth overall picks and one of the best ever forwards the VHL has ever seen. Dedication, hard work, and perseverance are all qualities that Ying will have to work on if he has any hopes of his name being included amongst the all-time greats. Having been absent for almost the entire season, Ying has come back to Riga in better shape than ever, as he recently attended a boot camp run by the Communist Party of China. Ying also has a nation of 1.4 billion people supporting him and scrutinizing his every move, as the Chinese are looking for a Sidney Crosby to call their own - an elite superstar that is marketable to all. With the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics coming up, this nation desperately needs the young centre to succeed. Not since the days of Xin Xie Xiao have the Chinese had an elite skater that could bring the entire nation to its feet and glued to its television screens in the middle of the night while an international tournament takes place on the other side of the world. With all due respect to Astrid Moon, even the best goaltender isn't the most marketable player in a market full of affluent customers who are driven by luxury brands. The same can be said for Ho Lee Fook, who for all his offensive skills from the blue line, can be a liability at times and extremely inconsistent defensively. Fook Yu could be a challenger to Rudi Ying for the title of China's Crosby if he was born in a different city, as the geopolitics between the mainland and the ex-British colony don't look too favourable for the defensive-minded Yu.
  14. Five seems to be the lucky number for the Las Vegas Aces so far as they defeated the Yukon Rush by a combined 10-4 scoreline in the best-of-3 wild card play-in series. The Aces followed up a 5-3 victory in game one with a 5-1 victory to seal their passage to the playoffs proper, where they will face the top-seeded Oslo Storm. While the Rush were able to sneak three goals past Shawn Brodeur in game one, the only mustered up eight shots on target. In game two, while Las Vegas limited Yukon to one goal, Brodeur was much busier as he had to face 23 shots. Vegas was also especially dominant in the faceoff dot, as they managed to win 82% of all draws. Sergei Komarov, Rask Rowe, and Rudi Ying lead the way for the Aces as their ability to have possession of the puck at the restart of play for the majority of the game lead to the subsequent dominance on the scoresheet.
  15. So Yukon became a good team overnight!
  16. Hey man you gotta applaud them, they tripled their shot total.
  17. Their GM posts like three times in the LR all season
  18. And my favourite memory is Scotty Campbell being the first ever clean draft pick in league history.
