Markus King on a washroom break
Six games into this young and delayed VHL season, it is evidently clear who is atop the goaltender power rankings and who is bringing up the rear...
We start off with rookie of the year candidate Vernon Von Axelberry of the Cologne Express. He is the only goaltender to not allow a single goal this season and is on pace for a season of 0.00 GAA and 1.000 save percentage stats which would shatter all records ever kept and make him a first-ballot Hall of Famer about a decade from now. At this pace, Cologne might be stuck in a rebuild for quite a few years if they can't secure the top draft pick or two.
Von Axelberry is followed up by everyone's favourite laughing stock-turned-hero Astrid Moon. Following up on his heroics in the Continental Cup Finals last season, he betters his Finals counterpart Apollo Skye and conference finals counterpart Rhett Degrath.
Jakab Hole-leak is ranked fifth as his 0.906 save percentage is impressively high... compared to Edwi Threencarnac who is bringing up the rear. Once again, the phrase "worst of the best" applies here for the Czech netminder who managed to let down the high-octane offense that Team World had this past offseason. Despite the heroics of Franchise Cornerstone and Pietro Maximoff, Hole-leak single-handedly ensured that Team World would not be medaling once again.
