The SHL lets you bank all your earnings past 350 and still return to the SMJHL. As long as that is the case, the VHL will never be exactly like the SHL in that regard.

Nobody said it would ruin the league for them, just that they preferred to stay down for one more season. It's not the end of the world either way, and I'd prefer to acquiesce to my players' wishes whenever it works fine for the team as well.

I don't think it's fair to compare our system to the SHL in any way, really just because staying down here starts your career timer and limits your TPE earning, since you need to be under 200 (now 250) to start the season, regardless of how much you actually have applied.

If you really go hard this week, you could earn another 32 TPE on top of what you've started with (media spot + biography + rookie profile + reviewing + press conference + practice facility + vhl.com article). As for the attributes themselves, you should probably get all of skating, scoring, defense, and puck handling to 70 before picking a couple of them to take to 80 after that.

Inactive free agency was broken for a while. I made claims on Kingfisher and Nixon as soon as I was able. Still though, I don't get how me playing or not playing an inactive over a bot hurts or hinders the league in any way.

Again, acquiring decent players would cost assets. There's no reason for me to use these assets when I can wait a year or two instead and use these decent players in a time that I'll be competing. I thought you were trolling at first, but now I'm not so sure. Do you not remember Moscow just a few seasons ago or the IRL Washington Capitals of 74-75? Expansion teams have historically been very bad, and spending the valuable assets that a certain GM has asked me for to help trim his roster doesn't do anything positive for my franchise down the line.

I'm not paying futures to acquire players just to ice a full roster, and my other alternative is to sign inactives, which does nothing for the league anyways. If other GMs want to sell people to me at below market value, they can be my guest.
