Em Em Flex was born in the city of Kiev in the Ukraine, to a professional international hockey player and his figure skating wife. At a young age Flex showed great skill at hockey, mostly though as a goalie. Always the biggest on his team playing in net was a natural fit for him even though the equipment seemed small. As he improved his parents decided to buy him goalie equipment as it appeared playing the position was going to become a long-term thing. Flex quickly rose through the ranks of Youth Hockey and Junior Hockey in the Ukraine putting up unreal numbers and usually being a lock for most goaltending awards in his leagues. It certainly appeared at a young age that Flex could have a very long career as a goalie. In order to advance his career as much as possible his parents sent him to live in Banff, Alberta to study and learn at the world-famous Banff hockey Academy. He quickly wowed scouts in North America and plenty of offers came in to secure his services at most levels all over the country. Because he made his decision late and ultimately decided on the Victory Hockey League he was subject do waivers in its minor league. The Miami Marauders ended up with his rights for his first season in the minor league system. Due to a computing error it was found that Flex would have to play one more season of Junior Hockey before joining Miami. So he ended up signing a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League where he took the league by storm winning three straight rookie of the month awards. During the regular season started 54 games in that winning forty-five of them. He ended up with a 1.95 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage. During the playoffs Flex helped the Oil Kings to win Western Hockey League Championship only losing 2 games along the way. They travelled to Moose Jaw for the Canadian hockey League's Memorial Cup which they also won convincingly not losing a single game. He also only allowed three goals in the entire tournament which won him Top Goaltender of the tournament as well as MVP of the Memorial Cup. Adding to his trophy case he picked up the Top Goaltender , Top Rookie and MVP of the Western Hockey League, becoming the first player to win all three in the same season. After that he quickly went to practice with Mauraders and played every preseason game for Miami. The coach showed so much excitement over having the youngster in goal that he proclaimed to be the starter for every game of their Minor League season. We now look to the future to see what is in store for this promising rookie

Name: Em Em Flex Age: 19 Position: G Nationality: Ukraine Birthplace: Kiev Current Team: Miami Marauders ( Eligible for VHLM Draft ) Height: 6' 8" Weight: 244 lbs Strengths Size Em Em Flex is a huge goalie. Standing at 6 foot 8 inches, he blocks almost the whole net just standing there. While smaller goalies need to use their size efficiently to block most of the net, Em just has to stand there focus on the puck and not so much on position. Always an easy one to see out in a crowd his size must be his biggest strength as it cannot be taught. Glove Hand Probably his second biggest strength is his glove hand. It's surprisingly quick and he uses it well defend the left side of the goal. When he is crouched down the butterfly position it's almost as if the net disappears behind his big trapper. While he doesn't have the most cat like reflexes that glove side of his is a waste of shooting at except for the most accurate of shooters in the VHLM. Rebound Control Thirdly is his rebound control. Pucks really seem to stick to him and his freakishly long reach and large frame quickly swallow any opportunity for a rebound. Your best chance for a good scoring opportunity is to pick the perfect corner and hope for the best. Weaknesses Leadership With his size and style of play one would think that he would be he's very vocal and imposing leader. But actually he is a very reserved netminder and more of a support role type leader , rather than a rah rah type of guy. When he does talk or get frustrated, teammates do lesson and respond very well when he does offer guidance. Always a very supportive and encouraging teammate but definitely not one to bring the room together. Health Em has always enjoyed a good beer , or a tasty pizza. His attention to health and training often leaves something to be desired. While his training routine has improved, his love for sweets, junk food and pop have remained, and almost seem to counteract any progress made exercising. Definitely will need a nutrition coach or some meal and health training, if he will ever carry a heavy workload at the professional level. Outlook A bit of a wild card , a tough season in Miami may bring his stock down , but overall could be a good steal in the later rounds of the draft. Not a lot of hype surrounding him with other star goalies around , it will be interesting to see where he winds up.

1. With their very impressive starts; how big of pick ups were Barry Bonds Jr. and Bill Nye for Miami? Huge. They’ve helped bring a fresh attitude to the team 2. Who on the team do you think has the most potential in their VHL career? Em Em Flex of course. He will be a stud 3. (If so what is your favourite) I like non fiction. A lot of biographies and stuff about the end of the world etc 6. Do you have any tattoos? (How many and if not would you want one) I do have 4 so far. Plan on getting more later this year too.

If undrafted which team would you like to go to if you could decide? Seattle has a great franchise and foundation. They’ve gotta be number one. Prague or Helsinki would be 2 and 3. I’d be happy in 7 or 8 places. Just a few that I will not go to 4. Who has been the teams MVP half way through the season!? Whoever Bek’s goalie is. Probably has lapped us all 4 or 5 times in tpe get to know you questions. 5. Favourite city you’ve visited? Not really a city, but Banff national park or kananaskis. Most beautiful places on earth 6. Waffles or Pancakes? Waffles. They just seem fancier

So here we sit in last place. Not a good feeling, but I feel I'm mostly to blame for that. Never nice to let your teammates down, and there is no denying that I'm doing exactly that. But today I am refocusing myself and making myself the best goalie I can be. No more excuses, no more dodging press conferences. I'm going to be the best goalie out there and take the VHLM by the balls. You're gonna see some Carey Price like shit out there. Sorry, not sorry to you Leaf and Jet fans haha. The Marauders are gonna be a legit threat the rest of the way. And I'm gonna force myself to be the best next year too. Just watch me. Em Em Flex will be a thing of beauty. We will look back on this season and laugh. So get ready VHLM, there is no stopping me once I fire up

Dear VHL, Randy Marsh here with an open letter to all the players and teams out there. As you may know it is my final season in the VHL and I do have a few goals and fights left in me before I go back to Tegridy Farms. Now the goals have been coming as easily as a spooky ghost, but the fights not so much. Now I know I am an imposing figure, but gaul I didn't think it would be so scary to fight a middle out of shape dad like myself. I thought this was America, where any red blooded hockey player would drop the gloves at a moments notice. I do hear from many anti fighting hockey fans, who say things like "The players should all wear bras! And instead of helmets, they should wear little tinfoil hats, ‘cause, you know, it’s the future and we shouldn’t be so barbaric!" The pansification of hockey is well underway and well I'm just trying to keep it old fashioned. So I'm giving an open invitation for any VHL player to fight me, cause I for one didn't hear no bell!
