So here we sit, a few games into the inaugural VHLE season. After winning the VHLM title with Miami, I was feeling good about my immediate future. Awards were coming up, so was the VHLE draft and a new team for me to be on. Awards night came, I did very well, winning the top goalie award in the VHLM as well as playoff MVP. Nice. I expected to be nominated for both, but to win both was a surprise to be sure. But a welcome one. Then came the draft. Round 1 went by, then 2, then 3, then 4. I wondered maybe I wasn't eligible for some reason all of a sudden? Or did people forget about Em Em so quickly? Round 5 nothing either. Then finally Stockholm comes along in Round 6 and throws a dog a bone. I guess likely only playing one season in the VHLE had a bigger impact than I thought. No worries, I'm here to win games and take names. GO Stockholm and GO Seattle

Go Marauders!!! Go Em EM Flex

Well we did it. The Miami Marauders won the VHLM championship. My 2nd as a user and this one felt real good. I think being the Allstar goalie for the team, I put a lot of pressure on myself to help lead the team to the championship. It was definitely expected in my mind and anything short of our goal would’ve been a massive failure. Now is the offseason and I don’t really think I’ll win the Playoff MVP award, so I’m not really looking at that. I’m not sure if I end up in the VHL or the VHLE this next year either. Don’t really understand if you get to choose or not, but it’ll be an interesting first year for the VHLE. Curious to see how the rosters form up and how successful the league is in the first few seasons. Is this just a stop gap to thin players out or is it a long term thing? That’s all for now

Go Miami

I was told by my genius GM @Banackock to do more updating so that my stud goalie Em Em Flex gets better. So here goes. Like many people, as the world has reopened, I've found myself doing other things aside from sim leagues. I had re-peaked to 5 sim leagues with varying amounts of activity sometime during our 18 month imprisonment. Unfortunately, even with my love of hockey, the VHL was a casualty. But I do hate being a quitter, so we'll see Flex play out his career and take a break from a few sim leagues. The community used to be what kept me around here, as staring at box scores is only so exciting for me. I am glad that Seattle has once again risen to the top of their conference standings, and I'm equally glad Miami has had a very strong regular season as well. With any luck, both will take home championships here shortly. That's over 150 words, so see ya next time

This week was the entry of my third player into the VHL draft. My player EM EM Flex took part in the VHLM draft as well. As a goalie, and after scouting possible destinations, I kind of had the feeling that there may not be a whole lot of action or scouting messages regarding my player. In the end about 4 VHLM teams as well as 6 or 7 VHL teams reached out to my player. I’m not sure if I was disappointed in the lack of interest but am really I was not too surprised. I do have A lot to offer and I am hoping that Miami and Seattle respectively are both very pleased with the player that I will become. As for my draft experience as a whole and where I ended up being selected I’m quite happy. I spent last season with Miami and even though it was a rough season, I had a lot of fun. Rockstar did a great job keeping spirits high with the focus on the upcoming season as to when we would make our big move. So I’m really looking forward to the season and seeing where we can go as a much more fearsome team , with all our high draft picks. With Seattle, I’m going into a familiar situation as both of my two previous players spent time in the Bears organization. Bana does a wonderful job keeping players active, motivated and most of all, winning. The amount of championships Seattle has won in the past several seasons is quite insane and I’m really hoping that, that run can continue with a few more championships with my goalie back stopping the team. There were a couple other teams that I had very good conversations with regarding my being drafted, and in the end while those didn’t come to fruition, they leave me with a good feeling as to them being good places to play in the future. Looking forward to the season I’m really hoping to establish myself as one of the top goalies in the minor-leagues and proving myself a good draft selection. My numbers from last year definitely leave something to be desired but I think with some luck and more tpe that can change pretty quickly. My future with Seattle looks very bright. While there is a bona fide starter in place with the Bears at this time, I think by the time I’m ready to strut my stuff in the pro level, I’ll have a solid opportunity t win the job up there. I hope to make all the teams that didn’t draft me regret their decision or lack there of, but in the end I ended up quite happy with where I was drafted so there really are no hard feelings in this case. The career of Randy Marsh is now a closed book and the career of Dan Wilinsky is very far in the past. I think both had solid careers but definitely fell shorts in the end of any Hall of Fame chances. Perhaps Flex can be the one to break the streak and muscle his way into the VHL Hall of Fame.
