  6. Ottawa taking it in the shootout, fighting for that playoff spot!
  7. Crazy that this game was as close as it was considering the shots were 43-16. Kolur deserved 3rd star at least for single-handedly keeping Philly in this one, .930, nicely done!
  8. 20 points for Houston, everyone padding the stat sheet.
  9. I have noooo idea what you're talking about...
  10. Dang, Mikko 0 for 10 on shots, Las Vegas just couldn't find the back of the net.

  13. Tonight we’ll be taking a closer look at 3 of the upcoming draftees for the 66th VHL Season draft. The three individuals we’ll be examining all joined the league right around the same time in mid February, making them all free agents just before the start of the season, each took a different route, but have found success in their own organizations. There is a good chance we’ll see all three of these players in the playoffs at the end of the season. It should be exciting to see how these guys keep developing through the remainder of the season to hopefully put their team ahead of the rest so they can raise that elusive Founder’s Cup. Kyle Sabertooth Joined 2/18 @uphillmoss | TPE: 157 LW | 6' 2" | 230 lb. | Age: 19 | | He’s the leading point scorer of the three highlighted players coming in at 25 goals, 32 assists, for a total of 57 points. He’s been on a bit of a dry spell lately, not registering a point in his last two showings, but if we know anything about Sabertooth, its that nothing keeps him from finding the back of the net for long. The kid has a 14.285% shot percentage and has four game winning goals to his name so far on the season. This left-winger has shown he has what it takes to make it in the VHL and will certainly be an asset for seasons to come to whichever team is lucky enough to find this player in this deeeeeep S66 draft class. Uphillmoss has certainly made a name for himself around the league and with his involvement with the VSN and podcasting it's evident that he'll be around for the long haul. Latest Podcast Shoutout! Ludvig Sederstrom Joined 2/20 @aleks | TPE: 163 C | 6' 5" | 165 lb. | Age: 17 | | The kid can pass and that’s the reason he’s bringing the most assists to the table out of the three rookies we are looking at, with an impressive 35 assists over his 56 games played so far this season. He hasn’t been the scoring threat we know he’s capable of, but that’s only a matter of time. He has 13 goals so far on the season bringing him spitting distance of Sabertooth at 48 points. Three games back Ludvig registered a whopping 4 points on the night and won north of .500 in the faceoff circle, hot nights like that will put him even closer to Kyle Sabertooth in points. Aleks is a consistent as the day is long when it comes to earning TPE and there is no reason for me to believe these trends won't continue throughout Ludvig's future career here in the VHL. Bert Meyers Joined 2/19 @RunnerBert11 | TPE: 191 LW | 6' 1" | 175 lb. | Age: 20 | | Bert Meyers is trailing the pack in both assists and points with 19 assists and 37 points. He doesn’t have an overly impressive tally count in the goals column either at 18. Don’t let the season figures throw you though, he’s amassed 5 of those goals and 5 of those assists in his last 6 games and is currently on a 4 game 7 point streak. Meyers came into the league with ambitions of being a sniping left winger, but after Minnesota’s early seasons struggles and lack of faceoff talent, he switched gears to fill the teams needs take to the dot. He’s now officially changed his position to C and is winning faceoffs like he’s been doing this for years. Even though he’s switched his focus to center, Bert Meyers is still quite the scoring threat when he decides to let the puck go, touting the highest shot percentage of the group at 15.385%. RunnerBert11 has been a TPE hound and has been capping since he came aboard and there's no reason his involvement in the league should dwindle anytime soon. 663 Words Claiming Theme 6TPE 4/1/19 Claiming MS 6TPE 4/8/19
  14. I've been playing center for the better part of the season and started building my player as a center for team needs and intend to keep building him this way going forward so probably should make this official before the draft. Thank you @Beketov
  15. On a Friday night in Minnesota, Saskatoon Wild in town for a night game, Bert Meyers sits quietly in the locker room taping his stick with Jerk It Out - Caesers blasting in his ears as he gets ready for the game ahead of him. He knows he'll have to be on the top of his game to help the Storm continue there recent surge up the standings against the Wild, who have been making similar moves up the standings on the lower half of things and fighting with everything they have for a playoff spot. As the Storm take the ice Bert is in the zone and his game is clicking throughout warm-ups, little did Meyers know this would turn out to be a career night for him and one that he'd remember for years and years to come. From the second his line took to the ice Bert Meyer's game was on point. He was seeing like never before and dominating in the face-off circle. It was only three minutes into the 2nd period that Bert found the back of the net for the first time on this eventful night to bring the game back to 4-4. Only three minutes later Bert won a face-off in the Wild zone, after a beaut of a pass from @FBR Kai, Bert found the back of the net again to bring the Storm ahead 5-4. @TheFlash Hans Gruber was not having this and within the minute took matters into his own hands and netted the equalizer for his 3rd point of his impressive 4 point night. The Minnesota started the 3rd period on the PP and after a shot by Shane Mars, Orion Slade deflected it with the wood and put it past Juan Juandice for the go ahead goal. In this back and forth bout it was 8 minutes later that John Perdue put the 6th equalizing goal past Wendy after a won face-off by Hans Gruber to round out his 4 point night. Two minutes later after Szita's laser of a shot was not cleanly absorbed by Juan Juandice and bounced to his backside, Bert Meyers cleaned up the rebound for the game-winning-goal and his 3rd goal of the night for his first career hat trick. With ten minutes left in the game and ahead by one you could see the sense of urgency in the Wilds eyes. After 8 shots they were able to get a rebound off Wendy's pads and at the 18:50 marker they found the back of the net with the 8th equalizing goal of the game. To the Wilds disbelief the goal was reviewed by the refs and after closer examination they refused the goal due to goaltender interference. Hans Gruber was able to throw one last shot at Wendy before the end of the game, but was unable to find the twine and the night ended 7-6 Minnesota. While Hans Gruber had the most points for the night at 4, he was awarded the 3rd star of the game after a hell of a performance and was the main reason the Wild gave the Storm the run they did. Matthew Kai was named 2nd star of the night with a goal and an assist. From the looks of the stat sheet he doesn't look like a clear cut 2nd star choice, but his effort levels on the ice all game and some of his key plays were turning points in this game and ultimately were the reason the Storm came out the victors. Bert Meyers was named 1st star of the night with 3 goals for this first career hat trick on only 4 shots. He was also a contributing factor to the Storms success with winning 22 of 28 face offs taken, for a whopping 78.5%. 635 Words

  17. Since I'm not a member of either leagues I cruised through each leagues from page and read through a lot of the other members comments, especially those who are active in the other leagues. There were a few things that stuck out to me that I think would be fun and could add some more TPE opportunities and help further league immersion. First off the PBP posts. Not sure exactly how often they do these, but even if this was only incorporated into playoff games or series deciding/game 7 of a series, I think that would add a thrilling element to what I think are some what "flat" sims. I do love the sims themselves when it comes to my team and I am one who usually reads not only thru the play by play on there, but also the super detailed game recap at the bottom. Reading through some of those PBP posts you can definitely feel the intensity rise and everyone getting really into the sims. I think this would also help create some rivalries between teams and players since people would instantly be a little more emotionally invested in these games. This would also help get people excited or invested in sims from other teams. This would certainly get me into other teams sims. I will agree with some of the prior posters that I am guilty of usually only looking into my teams sims and the team I am AGM for, aside from that its usually only for article purposes. Not that I don't care about the other teams, there is just not driving force to bring me to those sims instead of focusing my efforts on something player and team related. I also really like the idea of career TPE opportunities. I am not opposed to the 10TPE bio, as it is a nice way to give a fresh player a nice boost right away for people who are a little more serious, but the idea of breaking this up, or maybe even just adding a few different pieces sounds exciting. It would allow for people to really create an entire life and career for their player and add more article and media opportunities. In a roundabout way this also creates "milestones" which might help with player retention since it is giving people constant benchmarks to be pursuing. Almost the same idea of mobile games, where there is always another benchmark or reward to be earned within the near future that keeps people playing. Lastly, I like the idea of .5 TPE opportunities for sim posts that meet certain requirements and capping them at 1-2. That way it's not out of hand and really skewing TPE earning, but adds another driving force to review sims across the league. In short, I think anything that can help encourage and increase sim attendance for all sims across the league will only better the league and help develop more league immersion which would help league involvement and retention. Also the idea of career TPE opportunities would be fun and help with player development and also help with future article and media ideas.
  18. SICK LOGO!! Favorite color and awesome concept! Congratz to @Advantage You know you want to pick up LW/C Bert Meyers so he can slip on one of those sexy ass green jerseys!
  19. Graphic to celebrate Bert's 1st hat trick!
  20. April Fools! The trade deadline is actually April 2nd Oh the hijinx!
  21. Bert Meyers registering his first career hatty! Lookout!
  22. 1. In the latter half of the season now and, while Halifax and Minnesota are quite a few points ahead, there is just 4 points separating 3rd and 7th, which of those five teams (Aces, Bulls, Lynx, Rush, Wild) do you think will finish highest at the end of the season? I have a good feeling about Saskatoon after their trades a few weeks back, been making some noise and slowly climbing up the ranks as of lately. I also think everyone needs to keep an eye on LV, they seem to have a nice balance of offense and defense over there. 2. Since the last set of questions were asked, the World Juniors Rosters have been selected. What do you think about your nationalities chances at winning the tournament? Looking at who USA has on the roster I have a hard time believing any other team will be able to stop them on their pursuit to the championship! 3b. (If you didn't make your World Juniors roster) Were you surprised not to make it onto your team's roster or was it expected? At first I was since I thought I was doing pretty well on the ice and was starting to reach some of the higher players in the VHLM, but once I saw the eligible player pool, it was no surprise that I didn't crack the USA lineup. I did however get contracted by Asia/Mercs to fill in for some of the inactive 30TPE players. 4. Hunter Hearst Helmsley is currently leading the league in points and goals, do you think there's anyone who can stop him from leading in either come the end of the season? I just don't think it's in the stars for any of the players trailing, HHH has a way of tickling the twine night after night. He's a force on the offensive end and is the center of that team! 5. Give a shout-out to one member of your team who has helped you out and why (maybe a member's player has helped your player perform well in the sim, a member who helped you with PT's, etc.) @Goonie He's a rock solid d-man and the keeps the Storm on track and has been helpful on the forums and a critical part of me landing an AGM position. Thanks man! 6. Recommend either a video game or a movie for other members to play/watch and why you'd recommend it. My all-time favorite game, which was actually just re-released on some platforms and most recently for the Switch, Final Fantasy VII (FF7). Hands down one of the greatest FF games in the franchise, graphics are alright given the game is about 20 years old. Still favorite turn based RPG ever, do yourself a favor and give it a go, you won't regret it!
