I swear Morale plays a bigger factor than some think. I observed Calgary's throughout every season and it seemed like once you start losing, its like a domino effect and it is very difficult to come out of the spiral. So if you get unlucky losses for 10 games or so, you land in a rut. At which point sths will just continue to punish you in the most cruel and unfair of ways. Just imo

Who was the better rookie ? Zeedayno Chara vs RJ Jubis My 1st gen player was RJ Jubis a LW. He was drafted 5th overall in s69 to the Calgary Wranglers at 212 TPE. A tough decision was made to move up to the VHL right away. Jubis passed up a chance to play for the crazy good s69 Saskatoon Wild. Once in the VHL RJ Jubis put up 11 points in 72 games played. (9 goals , 2 assists , 11 points) So if he had not played that first season up in the big leagues he would have easily had a point per game career. During his career he moved from the wing to center to Defense in his final season. Player #2 , Zeedayno Chara was Drafted 4th overall to the New York Americans. The s77 draftee was 252 TPE. Chara goes up to the VHL right away. He has had a much better start to his career, compared to RJ. Zeedayno's first 41 games: 5 goals , 26 assists , 31 points. If i wasn't super lazy right now I'd look at advanced stats. Oh well here is a look at the basic point totals. ROOKIE SEASONS RJ JUBIS 72 GP 9G 2A 11PTS ZEEDAYNO CHARA 41GP 5G 26A 31PTS Its pretty obvious my 1st gen player had about as rough of a rookie season a player can have. Especially as a top 5 pick. 2TPE for me. Merci

PROJECTING NEW YORK'S FINAL 37 GAMES CURRENT RECORD:16-15-4 REMAINING 37 GAMES AT CURRENT PACE: 17-16-4 TOTAL 72 GAMES: 33-31-8 LAST 10 GAMES: 5-3-2 FINAL 37 GAMES AT LAST 10 GAME PACE: 19-11-7 TOTAL 72 GAMES: 35-26-11 I can not believe we are already 35 games into the season. It feels like just yesterday that New York called my name in the draft. I must admit this team has surpassed all my expectations so far. New York was ranked 16th overall in the TPA power rankings. Midway though the season and the Americans are actually starting to look like a playoff team. They currently sit in a playoff spot and they have the power to decide their destiny. I am going to project the New York Americans players points for the remaining 37 games. I will do this in two different ways. Their current 35 game pace and their last 10 game pace to project the final 37 games. Lets see how this goes ! Some players will benefit from using their last 10 game as a projection. Other players may dip from their current trend. GARY RUSH So close to a 100 point pace he can almost taste it. Scoring a lot more lately with 7 goals in his past 10 games. If this continues he will reach 40+. Current Season 35GP 17G 30A 47PTS Current Pace for remaining 37 games 37GP 18G 32A 50PTS TOTAL: 35G 62A 97PTS LAST 10 GAMES 10 GP 7 G 7 A 14 PTS Last 10 game pace over final 37 games 37GP 26G 26A 52PTS TOTAL: 43G 56A 99PTS RHYNEX ENTERTAINMENT Started the season on pure fire. Rhynex is currently facing a downward trend the last 10-15 games. If his current pace continues he has a chance to finish around 70 points. If Rhynex from the first 20-25 games re-appears, 90 points could be achievable. Current Season 35GP 19G 23A 42PTS Current Pace for remaining 37 games 37GP 20G 24A 44PTS TOTAL: 39G 47A 86PTS LAST 10 GAMES 10 GP 5 G 2 A 7 PTS Last 10 game pace over final 37 games 37GP 19G 7A 26PTS TOTAL: 38G 29A 68 PTS ADAM SYRECK Syreck has been an assists machine lately. I have no idea if he can keep this up but I sure hope so. A 60-70 assists season would be awesome ! Current Season 35GP 11G 27A 38PTS Current Pace for remaining 37 games 37GP 12G 29A 41PTS TOTAL: 23G 56A 79PTS LAST 10 GAMES 10 GP 1 G 12 A 13 PTS Last 10 game pace over final 37 games 37GP 4G 44A 48PTS TOTAL: 15G 71A 86 PTS Red Lite Red Lite is on pace to have a down year from his rookie season point totals. However I think he bounces back in the second half and finishes closer to 85 points again. Current Season 35GP 13G 25A 38PTS Current Pace for remaining 37 games 37GP 14G 26A 40PTS TOTAL: 27G 51A 78PTS LAST 10 GAMES 10 GP 3 G 8 A 11 PTS Last 10 game pace over final 37 games 37GP 11G 30A 41PTS TOTAL: 24G 55A 79PTS RJ Thatcher Thatcher is another player who's last 10 games is almost the exact same pace as the previous 25 games. He appears to be on pace for that coveted point per game pace. (70-75 points looks like a lock) Current Season 35GP 13G 21A 34PTS Current Pace for remaining 37 games 37GP 14G 22A 36PTS TOTAL: 27G 43A 70PTS LAST 10 GAMES 10 GP 2 G 9 A 11 PTS Last 10 game pace over final 37 games 37GP 7G 33A 40PTS TOTAL: 20G 54A 74 PTS Chicken Wing The way Chicken Wing started the season its tough to come up with an analysis here. Roughly 15 goals in the first 15 games and then roughly 2 goals since. 25 goals and 60+ points is what I am seeing here and that is pretty amazing for a Dman. Current Season 35GP 17G 15A 32PTS Current Pace for remaining 37 games 37GP 18G 16A 34PTS TOTAL: 35G 31A 66PTS LAST 10 GAMES 10 GP 2 G 6 A 8 PTS Last 10 game pace over final 37 games 37GP 7G 22A 29PTS TOTAL: 24G 37A 61 PTS Zeedayno Chara Chara's last 10 games have been very good. I am not sure if he can really produce 15 goals and around 60 points. It is possible but it would require a big 2nd half from the rookie. I'd say 10 goals and 50 points seems very very safe. Current Season 35GP 5G 21A 26PTS Current Pace for remaining 37 games 37GP 5G 22A 27PTS TOTAL: 10G 43A 53PTS LAST 10 GAMES 10 GP 3 G 6 A 9 PTS Last 10 game pace over final 37 games 37GP 11G 22A 33PTS TOTAL: 16G 43A 59 PTS Nathan Steele Another rookie who is having a great start for the Americans. With 7 points in his last 10 games, makes me wonder if he can explode for 50 points. Let me defend my goalie here tho. He has a young team in front of him and he has faced an average of 40+ shots against him per game this season. He is still able to steal games for the Americans and we saw that recently when he stopped an insane 69 of 72 shots against vs Riga. As the team matures his numbers will improve. I truly believe he can take this team into the playoffs. Joakim Bruden Current Season 6GP 3W 3L 0 OTL 0.906SV% 3.95 GAA Current Pace for remaining 37 games 6GP 3W 3L 0 OTL TOTAL: 12 GP 6W 6L 0 OTL 0.906SV% 3.95 GAA LAST 10 GAMES 1 GP 0 W 0 L 0 OTL 0.909SV% 2.79GAA This is tough to predict. Bruden is on pace for 12 starts but its hard to say what ratio the team goes with for starts. Bruden had zero starts in the teams last 10 games. He did however come in relief after Sales got pulled after allowing 6 goals. Bruden made 10 saves on 11 shots and played over 21 minutes of the game. Bruden has done everything the team has asked of him and his 3-3-0 record is just the pace they need to help push this team into the post season. ( 1623 words )

Can New York make the Playoffs ? We are a little over 1/3 of the way through season 77. At the time of writing this New York is currently on a 4 game winning streak. New York is sitting in the final playoff spot in the North American conference. 25 games in and they hold an 11-12-2 record. Out of those 25 games they have already played the top 2 teams in their conference LA and Chicago 4 times each. Over the remaining 47 games, they play each team only 2 more times. Their record vs LA is 0-3-1 and 1-2-1 vs Chicago. So looking past those two teams, the New York Americans have an 11-7-0 record vs the rest of the league. With 43 of their final 47 games being against anyone not named Chicago or LA i like those odds. Conclusion: Its still very early but after doing some digging I really like New York's chances of proving everyone wrong. I truly believe we can sneak into the post season. New York is averaging roughly 42 shots for and against this season per game. The Americans have also scored 4 goals+ in 11 games so far. We have gotten great goaltending lately. I mean combine that with an offense that has been able to fill the net on any given night, I like our chances.
