Syko on Tour in Europe After completing a promising leg of shows matches in North America with the San Diego Marlins of the VHLM, Olober Syko finds himself now drafted to the Stockholm Vikings of the VHLE after being selected with the 2nd overall pick of the S91 draft. With the Marlins, Syko posted league leading numbers - in virtually every goalie statistic, and is on track to win some hardware for his efforts. Stockholm took note of his live performances, and hope that the frontman can be a brick wall in net on their back end. The Vikings' roster showcases some elite S91 talent, as well as some familiar faces that also grace the prospect room in Moscow. Both Grimgor Ironhide and Spanish Moon Moth were high first round selections that Syko will be happy to share the stage with. Celise Pereira on defense spent time with Syko at the Moscow training camp this past offseason. While the team appears young, and perhaps lacking on defense, the forwards will be the stars of the show and the hopes will be that they can drive the Vikings' offense. Syko will be relied on to continue his dominant ways from the VHLM to make up for a lack of a strong defensive corps. Stockholm has only 3 defensemen, along with 2 who aren't regarded as the most developed. Unless Stockholm makes a move to add a 4th defenseman or attempts to upgrade those already on the roster, there will be a lot of pressure on Syko to step up and make difficult saves. In terms of improvements, Syko will need to improve in virtually every facet to make up for the increasingly difficult competition in the VHLE. Formidable opponents are on every team, and former high draft picks also grace this league, which is inherently more competitive than the VHLM with all its new faces. Syko no longer enters the league as an expected star, but will need to be able to become a nightly headliner and draw in the crowds to prove his pedigree as a top draft selection. Compared to other goalies, Syko projects as the third best starter entering day 1 - only behind veterans WWWW and Olivier Gauthier. Former VHLM stars Karl Herzlich and Clark also rear their heads as stiff competition, and fellow S91 draftees Red Panda and Dalkr Vidarsson will be hot on Syko's heels in their attempt to prove themselves and further their development before their presumed VHL debuts next season.

After a season we can consider a success on our path to rebuilding, we've once again got a roster that looks quite different on paper than what we iced last season. Our defense sports nearly a completely new look with 3 new faces, and half of our forward group is making their VHL debut. We're very excited to ice such a young roster with so much future potential. While we have tempered expectations this season in a strong EU conference, we're going to be focusing on development and identifying synergies on the ice to set up a strong competitive era for our future. Now onto the captains! First Alternate - Left Alone - @okochastar Despite being just an S86 player and entering his 5th VHL season, Left Alone is one of the most veteran, active players left on this Moscow roster. Despite being offered the chance to head to a contender during our prior sell-offs, Oko chose to stay put and be part of our rebuild and serve as a veteran presence and leader on a very young team. On paper, he is the best player on Moscow by a wide margin and we will be counting on him to lead our offense by example this season. Second Alternate - Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage - @Grape Despite being a brand new face to the team as a rookie, expectations are very high for the former first round pick as the de facto leader of a very makeshift defensive corps. While help is expected next season, the defense is OSCB's to lead this season. As a big part of this organization's future, it only makes sense to give a franchise defenseman the keys to the defense at such a young stage in his career. While he'll have some veterans alongside him in Fraser Wallace and The Mediocre One, and also former first round talent Eric Queefson, we hope that it'll be OSCB that emerges as the premier talent and leader. Captain - Jeff Lewis - @nerji After a phenomenal rookie debut season where he collected the Stolzschweiger award for the top Rookie in the VHL and a nod to the VHL All-Rookie team, Lewis is primed to take a massive step forward and serve as the captain for a very young Moscow squad. Another core piece for Moscow's future, Lewis also inked a long-term deal with the Menace that'll keep him in the Russian capital for the foreseeable future. We'll look to see Lewis generating chemistry with two new centers in Axle Gunner and Jarmo Ruutu, and help both rookies adjust to VHL life. Expectations are very high for the sophomore forward, but we're confident in his effort and passion to handle this responsibility. Congrats to all named to the leadership team! --- I'd also like to officially announce our AGM change that has been in effect for a couple weeks at this point. I sincerely thank @Brandon for serving as my fantastic AGM from S86-S90, and truly appreciate his assistance and input during that time. Welcome to the new season of VHFL! Below is the randomly assigned draft order for your group. The draft is conducted in a snake order, meaning that each round goes in reverse order of the last. There is a time limit of 12 hours per pick. If the person ahead of you has not picked in their 12-hour slot, you may make your selection, and they can make up their pick anytime after the skip. If a member misses two picks without communicating to me or the GM - not necessarily consecutive, they will be disqualified and the team will be drafted by me or a filler I appoint. If someone has two picks in a row and fails to do the first one before 12 hours pass, tag them and give them another 12 hours for the second pick in a row.
