  1. New presser questions 1. Did you have a long weekend this past weekend? What did you do with the extra day off? If you didn't have a long weekend, what would you do if you had extra days off? 2. It seems like the EU will be a real battle, as we're in a playoff spot right now. What does this say about the EU conference if a team that sold nearly all their stars is suddenly in a top 4 spot? 3. What do you think our team is doing right in order to be playing our way into a playoff spot at the moment? How do we maintain this momentum? 4. Hammar Voss has seemingly found his stride, as he's back to leading the team in points, and is 5th in leaguewide defenseman scoring. What's your final prediction for where he finishes in the leaguewide defenseman scoring race? Think he has a shot for more awards this season? 5. Do you think it was the right decision to contract the E with all the overcrowded rosters we have now? Is there a benefit to running 3+ lines and promoting realism, or should the league prioritize giving every player the max amount of minutes even if some teams end up empty? 6. Wrong answers ONLY. I'm currently waiting another 11-ish hours for Starfield to release. What am I doing to kill the time?
  2. Congrats on your first shutout of the season (I have 2)

Since this request for more info was made public, I'll clarify that I passed judgement to Blues - as I don't solely veto trades, that power resides with commissioners with my input as financier if needed. They deliberated and asked for the trade to be vetoed, and that was to be done before the sim. I wasn't given an explanation to forward into the thread here due to Blues being busy at the time, hence why I only referred to the relevant section of the rulebook to justify the review along with a note that the Commissioners could explain the ruling.

@Banackock @Ricer13 As per section 6.8 of the rulebook, any trades involving a player going back to the a team they were traded for within 2 seasons and on the same contract will be reviewed by the Commissioners. After a review, the @Commissioner team has decided to veto this trade under section 6.8. Any questions can be brought up directly with the Commissioners.
  5. Presser for the new (or old) week! 1. Well, if it wasn't apparent from our offseason moves, our on ice performance shows we're officially in a rebuild. How does your approach to the season change whether the team you're on is contending or rebuilding? 2. Rookie Jeff Lewis @nerji has exploded onto the VHL stage, currently leading all rookies in scoring, including this past season's 1st overall pick. How has he been so successful? 3. It can't be easy for Sam Tombstone @samthemancub to enter the starting goaltender role on a rebuilding team. Any words of advice or encouragement for our favorite goalie? 4. Are you a cat or dog person? Why? 5. Have you seen any movies recently? Any reviews on them if you have? Any movies you'd want to see if you haven't yet? 6. Wrong answers ONLY: What is my favorite video game?
  6. Updated for S90
  7. Update the roster please, inputting rosters to the sheet.
  8. Bit too late, you were skipped twice and DQ'd since you never joined over a week ago.
  9. @Gaikoku-hito to pick a G, tag Qripll after you pick
  10. @cLoWn is up to pick a G
  11. @MexicanCow123 skipped, have a second pick here @STZ you're good to take a defenseman here as Cow doesn't need one. Then once you pick, rory's timer will begin for a defenseman.. Once Cow picks, cLoWn's clock will begin.
  12. Shit, if we had 12.5 mil in extra cap space back then too, I'd have let you stick around as well!
  13. If a team Voss wants to play for makes a good offer, we'd consider it. Otherwise we're happy to let him play out his career here.
  14. TRADE BAIT??? Malmo better keep their grubby paws away from you!
  15. Name: Olober Syko Position: Goalie Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 lb Hometown: Princeton, New Jersey Hailing from Princeton, New Jersey, goaltender Olober Syko was a late entrant to both the S90 VHLM Draft Class and the S91 VHL Draft Class. A thinly framed type with little game tape, Syko will be an intriguing prospect for teams looking for help between the net in the VHL. From what our scouts could identify, Syko played mainly for local beer league teams as well as spending time coaching the local NJ Stars goalie programs. Tape is extremely limited to a few beer league games for the 36 year old. Pros: Rebound control, Positioning From the tape, Syko displays strong awareness of rebound control, ensuring pucks that aren't covered up or frozen end up in a corner or played away from opposing forwards. Age seems to have benefited the goaltender here, as his years of experience playing and coaching have given the adult a strong sense of awareness and expertise in controlling rebounds. Syko also leverages that experience and knowledge into maintaining excellent positioning, making up for some physical shortcomings with a strong knowledge of the game and the position. Oftentimes Syko will play more aggressively in the net to make up for the size disadvantage and take away angles when possible. Positioning on odd man rushes is also strong, with a quick trigger to slide over to cover the cross ice one-timer. Cons: Age, Build, Reflexes At the end of the day, Syko is not young like most of the prospects that come through the VHL system. As a 36 year old with size but a scrawny frame, there are durability concerns as well as size concerns within the net to stop the maximum amount of pucks. Syko will need to bulk up and go through rigorous conditioning programs to be able to last a full season as a starting goaltender. Most concerning, Syko's reflexes aren't as strong as you'd hope from a typical prospect or youngster. Age claims all as victims, and Syko is no exception. His camp claims that he rigorously trains reflexes to stay sharp and perform at a high level, but the pure hand speed and mental sharpness, especially as someone who didn't often follow a strict diet or nutritional regiment for most of his life, leaves room for concern. Overall, Olober Syko may see himself drafted to the VHL, but likely to a team with some room for forgiveness and perhaps one with a strong defense core to prevent breakouts and odd man rushes to reduce the strain on Syko. He was a 2nd round pick in the S90 VHLM Draft, and so far has won both of his two VHLM games with a combined 1.5 GAA, the lowest in the league so far. 465 words
  16. Def would have cracked 2210 if I was better with these Nuts that you went through all that manually though, jeez. Thanks for breaking it down!
  17. There's an attached spreadsheet linked in the form that gives you all the costs on the tabs.
  18. Just gonna say these questions will be approved as well as responses, but giving out prompts that are to be answered in one word will usually be denied, as well as subsequent answers to those prompts. We require about a sentence per question, just so we can ensure there's adequate effort being put in.
  19. @rory skipped, @qripll is up
  20. Well damn, this season's team looks a lot different than last season's. I've mentioned it here and there, but making the decision to pull the trigger on a rebuild was pretty difficult - especially knowing that we could have kept all of our veterans and made one last push before we lost most of the team to retirement and FA. However, the organization has the opportunity to level set after 9 straight seasons of extremely strong performances - and 35 awards coming to the team and our players. As we enter the S90's, like we did entering the S80's, it's time to feature a new generation of players who will lead us into the future. We've got a couple familiar faces left on the team, so we've got a nice mix of new and old players making up our leadership team. First Alternate - Nils Andersson - @Viper Typically, I assign captaincy and alternates based on tenure with the team or overall experience in their careers. Viper and Andersson buck that trend, but for very good reason. For those unfamiliar with Viper, he's had a pretty lengthy history of inconsistency with players and a reputation of fizzling out early in his players' careers. When we drafted Andersson back in S88, Viper and I had some chats about how we'd approach this player and how we could keep him going, regardless of any obstacles in his way. Now entering his third VHL season, Viper is poised to have his highest TPE player ever, and has become a great voice to have in the LR and with our advisors. He's learned from mistakes in the past and has showed a lot of maturity since I first met him three years ago, and I'm very confident in giving him an 'A' here in Moscow. Second Alternate - Babay Shrimp - @Blazzer A new face to the team, but a player and user who have already settled into the locker room quite comfortably. There was no shortage of suitors for Babay Shrimp this offseason, and despite Moscow's status as a rebuilding team, Blazzer was more than happy to join us for at least a season and be part of our organization and contribute to our culture. A veteran player who will be able to guide the young forwards on our team, we expect big things from Shrimp on and off the ice this season! Captain - Hammar Voss - @BOOM A long time alternate captain for four seasons now, Hammar Voss takes a step beyond simply being the best defenseman in the VHL, to becoming the Moscow captain. I suppose we're buying into the meme here that Moscow captains always end up off the team the following season since Voss is retiring after this season, but it might have been the easiest captain decision I've made as a GM. Boom is involved in our LR in all aspects, whether it's providing our players with gorgeous sigs, helping to guide our team plans, posting boobs or just chatting with folks, he's been one of my favorite acquisitions to the team outside the draft. I hope we can send a future HOFer off with a great final season! Congrats to all named to the leadership team! MOSCOW MOSCOW MOSCOW
  21. It was much, much worse to not have them in a dropdown. You'd scroll on the page even more imo. If it's not liked, I can go back to not having a dropdown next time. I just won't have people typing in names for spelling/formatting issues with the scoring sheet.
  22. VHL players only to be selected, there's a dropdown in the form, those are the only eligible players. Scoring follows VHFL, but you're competing against everyone, not in groups. Your team of 3 forwards, 2 defensemen, 1 goalie will play against everyone else's teams.
  23. Which part lol
  24. I'm single-handedly saying no to inflation, maybe our world leaders should learn from me.
